Mexico and Central America Golf Holidays

The room was clean. Staff was pretty friendly but not very accommodating to simple requests. I have stayed at nicer and less nice hotels and they have all tried to accommodate requests. Buffet: I requested honey for my mother's tea as she was feeling ill and was told they did not have access to honey at dinner time. I requested a fresh made huevos rancheros plate and was told they were on the warmer. The temperature of the food was not hot. I think this contributed greatly to the substandard rating for food quality. The buffet hosts were not excited about setting our table for our group of 15 daily. They would ask us to sit at two different tables, Often times we would just go in two groups and use one table. The servers however, were really nice. Reservations: We were offered a reservation at the steakhouse for 15 at 7:00 p.m. and when part of my party arrived they informed us that the reservation had in fact been made for 5:30 p.m. that day. When we spoke to the gentleman that made the reservation he noticed the error but was unable to grant another reservation to the restaurant as a courtesy. He offered an alternate restaurant but the specific times he offered did not work for our prior commitments. The room was clean and put together daily but the AC could not be adjusted. My room was at 20C and when I called to request a temp change they said they couldn't unlock. We had 6 other rooms and they were all able to adjust it. With minor changes this could be a great hotel.

I guess it was ok for 3 days . Rooms were nice but Resort is NOT beach front property. It all depends which building they will make you stay it might take 10-20 min walk to beach . You might take a ride too,however beach is acceptable at another riu hotel and it’s pack with guests from 3 hotels for bech chairs or restaurant. When it comes to food very basic to make you now being hungry . Same food every day from breakfast ,lunch and dinner. Don’t eat oysters they made my husband very sick ! As many times as we have been in Mexico every year our favorite pick was Riu palace at Costa Mujeres and Royalton in Cancun .
