Family friendly Hotels in Mexico

"Probably our 5th RIU and looking forward to more. Staff always great. Food includes Lobster, Quality Steaks, Shrimp, Salmon and huge range of desserts & drinks (some premium). Lots of activities and entertainment. RIU does not do the nickel and diming like some other resorts where they set up higher Tier levels to get the things RIU offers to all their guests. Relaxing time where you don't have to carry your wallet around everywhere. The RIU parties (Neon, Foam, Jungle, White...) are a level above any other resort I've seen yet. Yes, the cost is a bit higher but you get what you pay for. Fun fact: Still grateful to RIU (Costa Rica) (and Sunwing) last year where they extended our stay for free as the Rain did not allow us to fly out for days. All details were taken care for us to ensure our safe and happy return."

"On the second day after our arrival, I ordered an 8 oz filet mignon at the steakhouse. The steak appeared to be cooked appropriately for medium rare, but the center had a very strong sour taste. I was unable to finish it, and shortly afterward I developed fever, chills, stomach pain, and severe diarrhea that lasted for the next three days. When my wife brought the situation to the staff’s attention, their response was extremely disappointing. We were told that they could call a doctor, but only at our own expense of $255 USD. The staff also treated us as though we were exaggerating or trying to take advantage of the situation, which was very upsetting. This experience completely ruined our first trip to Cancun. We expected much better treatment and hospitality from Hotel Riu Palace Kukulkan."

"The pool parties and nighttime shows and theme nights were by FAR the most fun we’ve ever experienced at any resort. Some of the food wasn’t incredible but you can find something good at each of the restaurants. Romanza was our favorite, and the rooftop pool bar had great tacos and wings. The party scene made this place well worth it, and we will DEFINITELY be back."
