"Maybe 5* facility, definitely not 5* experience "
Stayed for 5 nights with my partner.
The hotel seems to be successfully marketed at Korean families with babies and small kids. Looking for a quick beach resort? It may not be for you.
Food, drinks and other services are very pricey even for a traveller from Japan.
The marine sports center, privately owned not by a hotel, have prices in U.S. dollars instead of the local currency, peso so bring dollars or pay in peso cash the price converted at their favorable exchange rate. The paraglider staff was nice and friendly but the center staff were not attentive.
Not all but the lobby lounge staff and pool staff were lazy and slow. Restaurant staff is friendly and hospitable.
Amenities, shampoo and body soap smell like a urinal cake.
Their "high-speed" Wifi is very slow (you can never play YouTube) so you can have a disconnected holiday.
Air vent is bad we could smell people next door smoking, in the non smoking room.

We went here for beach but the white sand beach turned out to be crushed gravel that hurt your feet. Pool, nice however. Better to spend more and stay at movenpick hotel down the street with better facilities. Be is basically Korean tour bus hotel with crowded cheap breakfast and crowded lobby. No concierge or tour desk to advise on activities. No beach umbrellas or shade until afternoon. Taxi to Cebu $8-10
1hour flight and 15 mins from mactan airport to the hotel... Nice pool, nice beach, great ibiza experience and very accessible. Vacation at Movenpick is the best relaxation! Everything is here! Food restaurants outside are also accessible. I like it better than shangrila mactan! :)

The hotel looks like it is being modernized improved. The outside area around the pool was very tired and staff looked like they were trying to Imove the area. This hotel is mainly catering to the Asian market. Staff struggled with English but we're very friendly. Breakfast was vast with lots of choice. The restaurant was nice but was not used much
"Nice hotel near airport if you are arriving late."
Hotel provided airport pickup for a charge, which was nice since we arrived at midnight. Iced tea served upon check in was a nice touch. Complimentary breakfast was very good. Roosters on adjacent property were a bit annoying in the morning, but other than that no complaints. Staff was excellent and very accommodating.
Stayed in a traditional style room, had a nice balcony/terrace and beach and pool view. My wife's friends lived nearby and there was no issue inviting them for a few drinks and food in our room/on the balcony. Staff very pleasant. Biggest area for improvement would be the bathrooms as these are dated and starting to feel a little dirty, towels are old and toilet paper is wafer thin.
Although Mactan Island houses Mactan-Cebu International Airport (CEB) and is connected to Cebu City by a bridge, the island may be most famous as the site where Ferdinand Magellan died fighting Lapu-Lapu. Tiny Mactan village has monuments to both leaders, and the island also features several guitar factories.
