Learn more about Niiza

Discover ancient treasures at Niiza Sengen Shrine, where locals celebrate seasonal festivals with traditional performances and food stalls. Families love the interactive exhibits at the Railway Museum in nearby Saitama City, while Heirinji Temple offers peaceful gardens for afternoon walks.

Heirin-ji is a temple famous spot for fall foliage.

The premises of the temple has a large wooded area, which has been designated as a national treasure. It really is beautiful all seasons throughout the year, but especially gorgeous as the various momiji (Japanese maple) leaves turn bright red and yellow.

The fall foliage season is late November to early December. Entrance fee is 500 yen (totally worth it, trust me!)

Closest Station: Hibarigaoka Sation on the Seibu Ikebukuro Line. From there, walk to Hibarigaoka Station North Bus Stop and take the Hibari73 bus (headed for Shiki Station) and get off at Heirinji bus stop, about a 15min ride.
