Great resort, small and quiet but still have stuff to do. The rooms are a little tired, but do the job. The pool and beach are amazing - one of the best beaches I’ve ever seen. The food and drinks were good. Service and staff where great. We will be back!

This is our 4th time at this resort. The resort is beautiful and the staff is amazing!! Shout out to Enrique, Lucia, Adriana, Ronaldo, the cleaning staff and all the cooks. The food was amazing, especially the tacos, hot dogs, and hamburgers (lunch by the pool) beloved steaks, room service and the buffet. Thank you to everyone that made our visit special and any names I left out I apologize. We will definitely be back!!

We stayed at the Catalonia Playa Maroma for a week with friends and family . Our overall stay was good but could be better. Here are the pros : Friendly staff , great entertainment , eco friendly that it seems like you are walking through a little jungle with the cute coatis around. We loved that it was a small hotel unlike those huge all inclusive resorts that you have to take carts or walk a mile or two to get to your room. Buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner was great! A lot of variety of foods ! The restaurants were great too and the service ! Thumbs up on that ! They did a nice job trying to keep the beach clean everyday with all the sagassum that was coming up on shore. The pool area was good however, on some days the pool water was really hot . Perhaps drain in some cold water. The pool bar was great too as well as the little lunch food trucks and the creperie! Here are some areas that the hotel should work on to make it better ! First, the buildings 3,4,5 are definitely renovated but somehow our air conditioner stayed at a constant 75 degrees and it was a bit muggy to sleep at night. Perhaps work on making sure all the rooms are well ventilated and cool . Secondly, entertainment was great at the theater at night! However it was unbearably hot with no type of wind there . I know we are in the warm climate but sitting there for an hour , at end of the show we were all drenched and sweaty. Maybe have some fans or turn the huge fans on that are on the ceiling. Thnx

Over all I was very pleased with our stay. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I think my bed was missing a leg but it still served it’s purpose. I wish that all the restaurants were open when we went as it cut our dining experience short. Really bummed they tried to fancy up the Mexican restaurant, I wish it could have been more local and true to its roots. Overall, I’d recommend.

It is a beautiful property, green and peaceful. I love the walk from the lobby area to the beach. It is like walking in the park. The beach is gorgeous and clean. I love the hotel and the grounds around the buildings are beautifully landscaped and meticulously kept. The pool is so very nice. The food is great and the people who serve it hard-working and lovely. I also enjoyed the daily entertainment, especially the Mexican show on Sundays. I loved my daily walks along the beach - the turquoise and green ocean is gorgeous!

Pictures posted online match the property. I would come back an stay here. Only thing I did not like was you had to make reservations for dinner. Every time I tried nothing was available. So we only got to try 2 of the restaurants there but overall would come back.

Overall I was pretty happy with this hotel. The beach is nice, drinks are good, service is good, shows are also good. Area around is green and nice. Lots of animals. There is not much to do for kids. Hotel is relatively small, so walking is no bad. If you need to relax in a quiet place and good beach then this is a good place. If you need lots of entertainments then maybe its not the best place. Taxi from the lobby is $51 to the aiport. From the airpot to the hotel, if you get at the aiport between 60-85$. This is not a van, just a car. Pros: Nice area, wild animals around, food, beautiful beach, shows, drinks, cleaning. Things for improvement: - Food is good but pretty much the same every day - A/C is working but week. It needs constant running. If turned off for the day, then it takes forever to cool down the room - There been drinking ppl next to us making noise most of the night. Calling reception did not do anything. Had to call the guys ourselves - Would be nice to have a tub in the room. We had small babies and bathing wasn't an option.... but this is not a big deal.. and they are not going to redo the hotel now :) -

Tolle Anlage an Traumstrand mit exzellente Service

Die Hotel Anlage ist wunderschön, sauber und gepflegt, am schneeweissen feinen Pulverstrand Maroma mit türkiesblauem Meer. Das Essen in den Restaurants ist köstlich, der Service sehr aufmerksam und nett, vor allem Alejandra im Japanischen Restaurant. Das internationale Animationdsteam ist ganz grosse Klasse! Besonders nett und zuvorkommend ist das Team der Bellboys, vor allem Ruben mit seinem "Ferrari" hat uns immer zum Lachen gebracht. Unser 5 tägiger Aufenthalt war wunderschön, wir sind rundum zufrieden und können das Hotel bestens empfehlen!

Buen hotel, muy arbolado, es la 2da vez que asisto y me encanta por la playa y su comida! El personal muy amable, Solo hubo un detalle que no me agrado.. que aun teniendo el letrero en la puerta de no molestar... la persona de servicio toco y toco la puerta hasta que le abrimos y le comentamos que no queriamos el servicio (ose me deja mucho de pensar) lo recomiendo para toda la familia.
