We did not like this hotel/gated community.

Too many hotels in this gated community for the small beach area! There was literally no where to sit on the beach! We left our RESORT for a less crowded PUBLIC beach. Room was clean. We also were not informed that you have to check in across the road at a different location. They do not allow motorcycles inside the gated area so we had to leave it where you check in. Parking is VERY tight!! Big vehicles will not fit.

They knew we were facing a potential hurricane in our home town and changed from a king bed to two queens so we could bring our kids on our trip after all without hesitation. I was confused by the two towers and lack of a lobby to clarify things with an actual person. Overall the location is a combined property resort and restaurants are nearby for convenience. It is close to beach access and overall a pleasant experience.

Perfect beach getaway

It was a week vacation with my spouse. Overall our needs were meet. The room needs some updates to improve comfort. The weather was awesome for our stay there however if we had to stay in our room for an extended period of time it would have been uncomfortable. The shuttle was convenient and useful. It was a short walk to the beautiful beach. We spent most of our days enjoying the white sands and the beautiful ocean. The sun deck was nice but not usable for lack of chairs anywhere to sit to enjoy the sunrises and sunsets. Very easy check in and check out. The staff everywhere were very friendly. Look forward to a return visit.

I was not told that when renting a condo, you have to pay extra for housekeeping. I did not see that on any details when I was looking for a Condo. The building had only one working elevator. We would have to wait up to 10 minutes for the elevator

Took several days to get towels after we had to use them to clean up overflow from the washing machine flooding. The maintenance man did come within minutes of us calling though. All in all a great stay

Nice place and location, but need a few changes!

My stay was great except the ironing board was too small. Also, there needs to be more carts for unloading. We had to make several trips to the car to unload and load the bags due to a shortage of carts.Exiting the parking lot is a little dangerous. You at not able to always see what’s coming around the corner.

There are two entrances to the property. One side has guest check in the other does not. The property is split by a highway. Had to be redirected to find the check in. Each building or tower does not have a lobby with a guest service at least not the Luau towers. So if you need something you have to call the desk on the other side of the highway. There is not a daily turndown service unless you call to request. We didn't find this out until after the second day of not getting clean towels. I asked a cleaning crew member and he informed me to call. He was in the hallway of my room and I asked if I could at least exchange towels. He said no you have to call to request room turn down.... The beach. If you don't rent the chairs and umbrellas there is a designated place you can set up your own stuff. All the way in the back about 75 yards from the water and behind hundreds of property owned chairs and umbrellas. No signs posted. I was 'found' by property security and asked to move my chairs and belongings after having been on the beech for about an hour. They were asking others for description of who owned the stuff. I asked where the signs were to indicate this and they only responded with sorry for the inconvenience but if I wanted to rent the chairs near our stuff we could keep them and not move. All of the things I listed in this review is not posted anywhere or explained at the time of check in. Not likely to return. On the positive note. The overall property was nice.

Rooms are small, hallways are too narrow, parking decks height are wayyy too low, parking garages are confusing and not enough property for the 2 buildings, pool and parking. No front or service desk. You have to go over across hwy 98 to Sandestin Welcome Center. Will never go back.

We have stayed at Sandestin before in one of the Lakeside 3 bedroom homes and rather enjoyed it. Unfortunately, we weren’t as pleased with the Luau condo. When first arriving for check in, the line was very long and initially only 2 receptionist processing folks and even that process was extremely long. The person at the front desk was not friendly, in fact, rather smug. The employee spoke in a low tone to where I couldn’t hear him over all the loud chatter in the background. Once arrived at the Luau Tower 1, we parked in the parking garage which smelled like the streets of New Orleans...not sure if there was a local trash compactor we were downwind from or what. The hotel/condo was very outdated and not kept up with. What limited interaction we had with the staff was also unfriendly. The room was relatively decent but more or less reminded me of a beach themed Best Western. We expected to have a kitchenette and washer/dryer but...that is only on certain rooms. Not a luggage cart in sight. At one point, there were several of them but never there when you need one. For $300 a night...I had higher expectations. The pool and overall amenities were fine. A bit pricey for food at the restaurants near by but let’s face it, that’s to be expected in a tourist area. The parking at Baytowne Wharf was about 1/2 a mile from the restaurants and entertainment. They have a parking garage but we were told we couldn’t use it, that it was reserved for Hotel guests and residents.

Gave us a room already occupied. Hauled luggage all the way up to room across street at resort, and people already in room. Called to report, stayed on n hold 15 minutes. Little apology and 4 drink tickets good at only three places across the street of resort. Ice available next door tower.

It was a little confusing at first, because we didn’t know to check in across the street from the entrance. Once we figured out what we needed to do, it was a very nice place to stay with a short walk to the beach! The room was very nice and had everything we needed! We will definitely recommend it to others and definitely be staying here again!

Good hotel instalations, poor service level

Good hotel, we were worried because most of the reviews said that the check-in process was confusing, but we got there at 9pm and followed the instructions to the guest registartion office without any complications. The room was nice, with a nice view of the sea, clean and as expected. However, the issues started when going to the beach and the guest swimming pool. Since this is a big resort, the beach was very crowded. We had to move further away from the hotel to get a better spot and with less people. The main swimming pool was in the beachfront area and it was supposed to be only for hotel guests and no outside food or beverages were authorized. However, we saw that there was no control on who entered the pool. We saw a 15-people family that probably were not staying in the hotel enter the facilities. They carried a huge cooler with food and beverages and several pool floats. They invaded the pool and no one said anything. It's very disruptive when you pay more than 300USD per night for a vacation stay. Overall was a good stay, but you have to have patience if you are going on a long-weekend vacation (memorial day weekend in our case). Be prepared to pay for absolutely everything...there is nothing as courtesy for guests.

We were there on a weekend, and requesting for towels and or calling front desk is a nightmare. Front desk at the tine act as if we were bothering them and not trying to provide good customer service. We did receive our extra towels but it was very discouraging to want to ask for anything else.
