"I recently stayed at Royalton Bavaro in Punta Cana and unfortunately my experience did not live up to expectations, especially for a weekend stay. One of the biggest disappointments was the lack of activities and amenities available. For a resort of this level, I expected more going on throughout the day and evening, but it felt very quiet and limited in terms of entertainment. The food was another inconsistency—it was very hit or miss depending on the restaurant and time. Some meals were decent, but others were below average, which made dining there unreliable. Cleanliness was also a concern. We encountered centipedes and roaches in the room, which is unacceptable for a resort that markets itself as upscale. This definitely impacted our comfort during the stay. Additionally, the “$300 voucher” offered through Expedia is misleading. It’s not a straightforward credit—it comes with multiple restrictions and conditions that make it difficult to actually use or get real value from. On top of that, much of the experience felt very focused on upselling. From the moment we arrived, it seemed like many interactions were geared toward getting us to spend more money, which took away from the relaxing, all-inclusive feel we were expecting. Overall, while the property itself has potential, the lack of amenities, inconsistent food quality, cleanliness issues, misleading voucher promotion, and constant upselling made this a disappointing experience."
