We had a wonderful stay at Ocean Blue and Sand Resort in Punta Cana. The food was excellent, with a great variety of delicious options every day. The pools were beautiful, clean, and perfect for relaxing. The customer service was outstanding. Every staff member was friendly, attentive, and always willing to help, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. One of the best things about this resort is that the restaurants do not require reservations, which made dining much more convenient and stress-free. We also loved that activities like bowling were included, providing fun entertainment without any extra cost. Overall, this hotel exceeded our expectations. If you’re looking for great food, excellent service, beautiful pools, and plenty of included activities, this is a fantastic choice. We would definitely stay here again!

On the downside, the property is quite old and appears to need maintenance. We encountered cockroaches in our room, and there was a noticeable moldy smell, which affected our overall experience.

My friends and I went to the DR for our first time. It was a really good time. The workers were a bit rude and we felt like it was a burden to ask for anything. They ignored us most of the time not sure why. Our personal concierge was very friendly and nice his name was Ismael he helped us do reservations and find things out. Overall experience was okay/good. Not sure if I will come back to the DR after this, but they did have beautiful beaches and there was a couple of nice people

The staff is not very helpful. We upgraded at check-in and it was a waste of money. Never seen our butler only text twice. Our room had to be switched due to uncleanliness, smell and not stocked. There are three floors with no elevator just be mindful of that. The tv barely worked and all the channels are in Spanish. The food was mid except for the Sensei restaurant that was great! The Privilege sales people held me hostage for 5 hours trying to pursued me to become a member. Staff is not very helpful or friendly only a few. The nightly shows were boring. Overall the H10 property in Jamaica is better even without privilege. I feel like I wasted money upgrading I was not privileged at all! The Privilege members club said it's because I upgraded at the property but it shouldn't matter! Also, the drinks are not strong! I learned a lesson only book privilege at time of booking. Overall I heard Ocean El Faro was better. Can't say I'll return if so definitely a more luxurious property.

We stayed 5 nights, We had to change rooms twice due to the AC not cooling in, we were a large group of 29 people and more than have had to switch rooms due to the same AC problem, super hot AC. Looks like there is a big problem with HVAC maintenance. The AC units seam to be lacking coolant. And they know this, yet they don’t care and send you to this rooms without inspecting this or maybe to see if you perhaps are ok with that and can handle the warm rooms…. Rooms outdated old, broken sliding doors… there was always something broken. -Food: to be fair we did not dine in any restaurants but both buffet menu were mediocre at best. -Service: not one server around the pool, the service overall was mediocre at best, had some servers that were very good but most are lost, you have to call for water 80% of the time. - drinks: I’m not a drinker but I did not try one quality alcoholic drink. Beach was alright… The good: The Cafeteria was the only place where you could have a decent coffee and there was very good service there. The resort is pretty, the electric carts constantly running is a very good move. Liked the Two big pools - the hotel has potential but it feels mediocre at best. Due to the things mentioned above. We are not sure where the good ratings come from to be honest.

The hotel was great. The employees were excellent and very kind. The food at the restaurants was great, and it was very easy to do the reservations when needed. There is room to improve regarding the pool amenities, the nighttime shows around the hotel, and the bowling alley. We absolutely loved ocean blue. Everyone on the property was so helpful. They did seaweed clean up often so the beach was always nice. Good food options, can get repetitive as most options seem to come from the same kitchen but no complaints. Loved all the cats on site and pinky!! Beautiful property, beautiful rooms (we had resort facing balcony, LOVED it) the pools are huge and perfect depth and temp. The entertainment every night was awesome. The activities by the pool were great. Bar tenders were friendly. It is on the map to get picked up for excursions. We miss being there already and cannot wait to return. Just my boyfriend and I there for 10 days and it’s now at the top of our “chill” vacations we’ve been on. I can only talk great about this place I genuinely don’t think I have any complaints. I was nervous coming in knowing there are other resorts with more known names but I’m very glad we gave ocean blue a chance. Front lobby is beautiful, good location to go north and see Macao beach too. I miss it so much already.

I liked everything about the property. The variety of restaurants was awesome. There were plenty of activities during the day and at night were perfect. The staff was friendly and helpful. I wish though the beach could have been cleaner. There was too much seaweed. I know it’s the time of year when it’s the worst but can’t enjoy the ocean and the beach when it’s cluttered with seaweed.

The resort itself is beautiful and very large, so be prepared to do quite a bit of walking. Ladies, you can definitely leave the heels at home! Unfortunately, the hospitality was disappointing. The staff came across as unwelcoming and rarely smiled, which made it feel like I was inconveniencing them just by being there. A warm, friendly atmosphere would have made a huge difference. I also think the resort could offer more activities around the pool area to keep guests entertained throughout the day. Check-in and check-out were both quick and easy, which I appreciated. However, I called to have someone pick up our luggage before we left, and no one ever came. Having to carry everything downstairs myself while managing two kids was very stressful. We also experienced a period without running water in our room, which was frustrating. On the positive side, housekeeping did a great job keeping the room clean during our stay. One standout was our waiter, Leonel. He provided exceptional service and was genuinely kind and attentive. He made a lasting positive impression, and I truly appreciated his hospitality. Overall, while there were a few positives, the lack of welcoming service and the issues we experienced outweighed them. Unfortunately, I would not choose to stay at this resort again

My wife and I really liked this resort. We've been to the DR 8 times, and I would say that this place ranks in the top 3. Check in was smooth. We had a 3rd floor room in building 9 which was a very convenient place to be. There are 2 main pools. We spent our time at the one closest to the beach. The staff does an awesome job keeping them clean. You will read reviews where folks say there are not enough umbrellas around the pool. That is pure crap, there are plenty. We were usually poolside by 9:00 and always got the spot we wanted. The guys at the swim-up bar were awesome! Diogenes (Dio), Wander and Francisco took good care of everyone. We would hit the beach in the afternoon and never had a problem finding chairs in the shade. Yes, there is seaweed at the beach, but the staff does their best to keep up with it. The food at the main buffet was pretty good. The guys making the omelets in the morning were 1st class. There is a small buffet at the beach (open air) which is perfect for lunch. As for dinner we tried Route 66 which was really good American food (shout out to Yaris in this place), the Steakhouse (shout out to Jose), and the Japanese restaurant were also very good. The Piano Lounge is an awesome stop. The gent starts playing at 9:00, plays for about 45 minutes, takes a 30-minute break, and then plays from 10:15 until 11:00. He plays 8 to 10 songs, and you knew every one of them (Elton, Billy, Queen, etc…). We have already said that we are coming back next year.
