"First room was clutter & internet not working couldn’t go to balcony. They change me room per my request it was worse. Tv, internet, safe not working until after 3 days maintenance show up. Finally was able to connect my laptop & work. One of their guest always angry in the rooftop by the pool. CAMARAS not working. They should cause also couple fighting until 3:30 am couldn’t sleep. The guy hit the woman & she was crying I told them they should have security cause I couldn’t help the woman. "

"This was my second stay at The Carmen Hotel in Playa del Carmen, and I absolutely loved it just as much as the first time. The location is perfect — steps from the ocean and walking distance to 5th Avenue, restaurants, shops, and nearby resorts. The staff here is truly amazing. Everyone at the front desk, housekeeping, rooftop bar, and coffee shop was so kind, welcoming, and helpful. Even though I don’t speak Spanish, communication was always easy and everyone went above and beyond to make our stay fun and comfortable. The rooftop bar has such a great atmosphere, delicious drinks, and an amazing staff. The breakfast included with our room was phenomenal, and honestly some of the best hotel food I’ve had. We stayed in the Owner’s Suite and highly recommend it. The suite was spacious, very clean, and had incredible wraparound balcony views. The beds were super comfortable, and having the mini fridge, coffee supplies, and plenty of closet space made everything so convenient. Overall, this hotel has everything — amazing people, excellent food, beautiful rooms, and the perfect location. I already can’t wait to come back again!"

"Stay far far away from this property. Not only are they dishonest their facilities are poorly maintained and the staff is pathetically inattentive. There are so many better places to stay in Playa Del Carmen. I strongly suggest you do not stay here. If you do decide to stay at this location, do not leave any valuables in the open. Lock everything up in a safe place in your luggage. "
