We enjoyed the excellent location- right near the Hop-on-hop-off buses where all their routes start. Also the staff on the reception and in the breakfast room were amazing and very friendly. Breakfast was great with everything from omelettes to yogurts. We highly recommend this hotel- great value for your money.

I recently stayed at Hotel Excelsior in Lisbon, and it was a very pleasant experience. The hotel is perfectly located, just a short walk from Marquês de Pombal Square and close to public transportation, which made exploring Lisbon incredibly easy. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, with everything I needed for a good stay. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always ready to give advice on places to visit and how to get around. Breakfast was fresh and satisfying, with a nice selection to start the day. Our stay here was great. A family room with enough space for all 4 of us, great cleanliness and friendly, helpful staff. Good selection for breakfast and close to the metro station so easy to get out and about. The hotel was undergoing renovations, but this did not affect our enjoyment.

Good location, friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast included. Rooms are small with limited space. Unfortunately the room smelled strongly of sewer coming from the WC.

I strongly recommend avoiding this hotel. The entire property is extremely rundown with poor or nonexistent maintenance. Everything in the room felt old, broken, or heavily used. The biggest disappointment was the food. The complimentary breakfast was truly awful—none of my four family members returned after the first day. The food was not fresh and looked like leftovers. Even the coffee was bad. You’re much better off finding breakfast outside the hotel; we found far better options nearby. I considered canceling our stay the moment I saw the room, but unfortunately, it was too late. This was a very disappointing experience overall, and I would not stay here again.
