The room was very large and comfortable. Probably the most comfortable bed I stayed in during our trip to Japan. Having a washer and dryer in the room was a huge bonus. The staff were very attentive and generous.

Super useful to have laundry inside the room. Spacious bed + walkable areas in the room, and the whole hotel has a chic retro vibe. The lobby, like most small Japanese hotels, is minimally sized but has free drinks and a small dining area for hotel guests. Front desk is super helpful with local recommendations, booking restaurants, transportation, etc. and they are always friendly as if they own the place. It's conveniently located near a train station (Karasuma Oike). Perfect for families who want to venture beyond the usual international chains, it's definitely got a local vibe!

We truly enjoyed our stay at HANARE by Tokyu Stay Kyoto Sanjo Kyoto. Kyoto is a magical city and this hotel was a favorite on our trip to Japan. The rooms were very spacious and clean. The bathrooms were the best of all the hotels we stayed and having a washer/dryer in room was a wonderful amenity. There was also a bar area with several coffee/tea options and a lot of space for luggage and other items. The beds were very comfortable and large. We also enjoyed the free sake, soft drinks, hot and cold coffee and tea options as well as the snacks provided. The hotel is conveniently located near 7-11 and the trains as well as in walking distance to much of Kyoto shopping and restaurants. Overall - this was a great stay and I highly recommend it to anyone traveling to Kyoto!

What an excellent stay. This was more than a hotel, it was an experience. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kyoto. The rooms were large and clean, the lobby offered some unique options and the staff were so kind.

Amazing location, amazing staff. Excellent amenities. From the sake tasting to the pyjamas they supply to the excellent friendly customer service. Lived having cold water and sparkling water as I entered from the hot Kyoto weather. Staff were excellent. We appreciated the special tiuches, especially the origami and tea. Room spacious and clean. It took me a while to figure out how to use the washer, but managed.

We stayed at Hanare by Tokyu Stay for about 6 days. We found the property to be very nice. We love the refreshments that were offered, the breakfasts that were included even though it wasn’t onsite. The location was convenient and close to public transportation. The rooms were spacious and clean.

Great location, very spacious rooms compared to other places we have stayed in Japan. Friendly staff. My kiddos weren't a fan of the breakfast as they had been at other hotels, but it overall it covered the basics. We loved that our room had a washer/dryer and so much wonderful relaxation space away from the sleeping area. There is a great 7/11 and Starbucks on the same block and wonderful restaurants all within a short few minutes walk.
