"Definitely a great place to stay if you are visiting Kawagoe with its historic 'Edo Town', as the nearest station (Matoba) is just two stops away. The very kind owner/host offers a comfortable place to stay with excellent hospitality and flexibility for not just solo travellers but couples and even small groups. The location is just a short walk from the station with plenty of shops nearby to meet your short-term shopping needs. The spacious room with the basic furnishings proved to be a great...

"The modern hotel itself is a great facility set in a modern library setting with a variety of interesting books free to peruse. The two outstanding problems with this hotel are (1) access by public transportation is very limited, forcing the guests to hire a taxi to convenient nearby train stations such as Tokorozawa station costing 2,400-2,600 yen each way, and (2) the breakfast purchased optionally is practically the same throughout your stay—three different kinds of sandwiches. "The staff was great. The room was clean and well equipped.
In winter, it could be good to provide more blankets in the rooms, as they are quite cold and I personally do not want to use the heater."

"I have been staying at the Hotel Metropolitan for over 30 years and it always shines! Everyone is very friendly, the rooms and common areas kept very clean. I did have one issue on this visit as there was an occasional odor in my hallway and room as if the sewer had backed up. I was on the 7th floor. I hope this was temporary and fixable as it was quite unpleasant at times. Thank you."
"Excellent stay, the bathroom was fabulous with a very enjoyable bath- loved the toilet too. The room is tiny but functional. It was well equipped for a few nights in Tokyo. The view was great and the hotel is extremely central with everything on your doorstep. "
"Stayed three nights as a family of three. Perfect location (direct Narita airport shuttle), great breakfast, awesome staff service. Room is small, typical in Tokyo. "
"Had a great stay, room was a good size (bed was a bit small for 2 people)location was nice 20 min walk to central Shinjuku and quick access to metro. Narita express bus was a 5 min walk to catch back to the airport which was nice. "
"The rooms are very nice modern spacious . The corridor looks outdated though but still clean . Nice to have the adapters and multi cables available in the room . Toilet within the room is spacious bright clean and modern . Will definitely stay here again if I m back to Tokyo. Do remember to check if the room type comes with access to the sky lounge as I forgot to do so"
