"This resort is amazing and the people that work there are what makes the resort spectacular. From the time we arrived to check-in, Nayeli at reception was so welcoming and personable that she made us feel like we were right where we belonged for our vacation. After drinking the champagne we were given at reception, we then met with concierge to select our dining & excursions. Paola was great at searching for all the available specialty restaurants to reserve our spots for the days we were there. This was great to do ahead of time because it allowed us to plan our activities. We booked our excursion at Xplor at the hotel & it was the best decision. The price, ease, and hospitality of the gentleman there was unmatched. Upon finishing up with concierge, the bell-hops took us via shuttle to our rooms. The food was yummy at the buffet style snack area, for breakfast, and everywhere else we ate. The staff were very accommodating & there was no shortage of staff. The "Luxury" in the resort's name I think is meant for the way the staff treats the guests & waits on them because it's unmatched. Specialty restaurant Ku'uk was my favorite of the ones we tried. The decor is outstanding, the service was excellent, and the food was great. Breakfast at Katok was my favorite spot, the healthy options, mimosas, and yummy food. The decor in this restaurant & views are unbelievable. Right by the adults only infinity pool, across from the beach - just wow. Excellent resort!!! "

"Well let me say this was the absolute best hotel stay ever!!!! I enjoyed this resort from start to finish! If in Tulum again , I will stay here !!! The staff is great , good food , safe and a lot to do!!! "

"Great value for your dollar! Expedia VIP granted us an upgraded bracelet to allow us into the neighbouring resort. Highly recommended this as the food at Coba is mediocre, the Akumal resort however had amazing food. On par with premium Vegas buffets. VIP premium also got us a free bottle of Tequila to take home. The entertainment was excellent. We saw the Blackbird show and were very impressed. AC at Coba doesn't go bellow 20•C which can be rough. Overall would highly recommend with the caveat that you get the upgraded bracelet. "

"The hotel room included free access to Cenotes Park and was very accessible to Xel-Ha and Tulum. Staff was very helpful. The room was large and clean. We enjoyed our stay. "

"My family prefers to stay in local, minimalist settings so we were looking forward to trying this unique hotel near several cenote parks. Unfortunately this place was extremely uncomfortable and we would definitely not stay there again. The shipping container rooms are quite rundown and poorly maintained. Our room was facing a completely burned out building. The rooms were terribly humid our entire stay - the bedding was damp and even with the air conditioning running, all of our clothing became damp. There was no wifi, tons of mosquitos and a cockroach in the bathroom. On a positive note, we were able to rent bikes, the pool was decently maintained and the light breakfast was fine. I am disappointed that I can’t give a better review but this stay was so uncomfortable we were all happy to get out of there when it was time to check out. "
