"It's a nice and modern hotel in the historic center, very close to all the things you need as a tourist. The area is very quiet at night, as there are tons of shops that are closed. My deluxe room was very big and cleaned daily. Overall, a great experience. "

"What a brilliant hotel. Staff were so friendly and helpful, and most spoke fluent English.
We booked a twin double bedroom, for a larger room, and although this had only a very small window (which did make it very gloomy - but it's an old building, so not much they can do about that) this was a minor grumble with very comfortable beds, fluffy towels, large shower room and peace and quiet from being in the back corner of the hotel.
The area was great for exploring the historic centre, and easy to get Ubers to and from, as well as being within a couple of blocks of 2 Metro lines. Even in the evenings we felt safe walking around the local area which had a very buzzy vibe.
We checked in at around 4AM (a lot of international flights seem to arrive in MEX at around 3am!) and one of the staff came out to meet the car and help us with bags, and 2 more staff checked us straight in, having been expecting us, they greeted us by name, and offered us any food or drinks after our flight.
An authentic menu of delicious cooked Mexican breakfast options were provided along with yoghurt, fruit and cereal/bakery options. Everything was by table service, and staff were very attentive.
The cafe by the entrance offers free hot sandwiches, salads, coffee, etc. 24 hours a day which is a massive bonus, and very handy if you want a quiet spot for a rest during a day of exploring the local sites, or an evening snack. All food was of high quality, plus free bottles of water on each floor."
"The hotel itself is absolutely breathtaking and you will not get a better view of the zocalo. We had a large room and bathroom with a bathtub. Air conditioning worked well. Comfortable beds. Large towels. All the amenities you would expect for a 5-star hotel. The staff was amazing, especially our porter, Emmanuel. He went above and beyond to help us with our luggage and explain the history of the hotel. He even walked us a block away to help us meet our Uber. We were treated very well by the Gran Hotel and would highly recommend to all! 10/10"
"I very much appreciate the great service that Ana in housekeeping gave us. She made my staying enjoyable.
Mgr. Alexis Rivero provides five start service.
He is extremely professional and pleasant.
Thank you to both of you. You are the reason I keep comming back to the hotel.

"Pros: It was mostly very quiet, which I really liked. The bed was firm, but not rock hard, I actually slept very well (just not very long due to an early flight). It was a good price, but not really as close to the Zocalo as you would think and prices have gotten crazy everywhere downtown. Easy to get a taxi at 3 am. Liked the high ceilings and large room. Lots of shopping stalls within a few blocks. Loved the feeling of getting to stay at what I perceive as a Mexican home. Shower water took a while to get hot.
Cons: Although well-lighted outside, felt insecure about safety (although there were only 2 people out at 3am). No tv or internet USB sockets anywhere on property I could see so not having a phone plug meant my phone ran out of power. No elevator (but they brought my bag up for me)."
"Historical property with spacious rooms and a lot of style. Excellent restaurant and boutique shops in the same building. Friendly and accommodating service."
