"Hotel is in a great location for a city getaway and was clean with fresh decor. Parking was independent and paid separately. Staff were nice. It was a bit pricey and it would have been better to get fresh water bottle daily in this heat."

The Gainsborough Bath Spa

The Gainsborough Bath Spa

10/10 Excellent
"The Gainsborough Bath Spa — ★★★★★ My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Gainsborough Bath Spa. It is beautifully located and an easy walk from the train station, making it particularly convenient when arriving in Bath. The hotel has clearly benefited from its renovation. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, the bathrooms excellent, the towels luxurious, and the air-conditioning remarkably quiet. The shower has outstanding water pressure. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff throughout were warm, courteous and highly professional. The spa is a real highlight. The baths, sauna, steam room and ice room are beautifully done, and we found the whole experience exceptionally relaxing. Congratulations to the management on a very successful renovation. I had read reviews mentioning noise from outside, but this was not an issue for us at all. Bath becomes remarkably quiet in the evening, and by the time we returned from dinner the neighborhood was essentially asleep. We also enjoyed the hotel’s own restaurants, but I would particularly recommend the Architect Bar & Restaurant, just a short walk away. Overall, this is an extremely comfortable and well-run hotel in a great location. We would happily stay here again and recommend it without hesitation."

"The location is perfect; everything is literally few minutes away. We really enjoyed being in the center. The staff is very helpful and the rooms are very clean. We did not try the breakfast so we cannot assess. The only downside are the stairs which are kind of narrow and steep, so we had to be careful climbing them up and down. But that is the case with all the historic properties in Bath. Highly recommended"
