"Lots to do and see. A bit colder in the hotel and pools! Bring a shall or sweaters. The safe didn’t work in the room, and Also didn’t get the bottle of wine in the room. Beautiful hotel, food was great."

"This resort is very modern and Americanized, didn’t feel authentic Mexican. Beautifully designed with really great food. The buffet was amazing always had something new to discover. Did not like the wait times to get into the buffet or the order coffee from there little on site coffee shop. It was impossible to just go somewhere and help yourself to morning coffee. You had to wait to be sat then wait for the waiter to come over to your table (at the buffet) the train brings you around which helps since the resort is so big: the beach side pool is very sleek. Staff friendly. The gym is beautiful and nice tennis courts. Nightly live musicians were talented. I loved the smell in the lobby. "

"We had a fantastic stay at Sandos Caracol Playa del Carmen as a family of four (2 adults and 2 kids), and we would definitely consider coming back. Pros: The hotel is very clean, and the staff overall are respectful and welcoming. One of the highlights of this resort is the wildlife—you really feel immersed in nature, which makes the experience unique for both adults and kids. Check-in was smooth and quick, likely because we arrived outside peak hours, which set a great tone for the trip. The restaurants were excellent across the board, with the Italian restaurant being our absolute favourite. Another big plus: no need to wake up early to reserve beach or pool chairs. There was always plenty of space. The beach area with palm trees and long chairs is especially great, offering lots of natural shade and a very relaxing atmosphere. There were nightly shows, and they were consistently entertaining. The pirate show and the fire show stood out as highlights, and our kids especially loved them. A special thank you to Judy, our concierge, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay seamless and enjoyable. Also, a shout-out to Ruth at the omelette station (Italian restaurant), as well as Nury and Kevin for their great service. Cons: The food at the Laguna buffet was unfortunately quite disappointing and could use improvement. The main pool is a bit small considering the size of the resort, although this is somewhat offset by the presence of other pools throughout the pro"

"Property is clean. Staff is very nice and made the trip more pleasant. However, there is nothing to do at this hotel. The beach nearby is awful. I will definitely stay closer to Cancun next time and choose a resort with more activities and have a great beach. For me, this would be a good hotel for a one night stay but it’s too far from the airport to be that. So overall, not worth the money. Also, the sister properties aren’t any better. "

Have been here many times but beach has been slowly gone missing. Now they have very large sand bag looking things that block off what used to be the beach.
