This place is close to UP town centre and University. not much of amenities but they do have a gym in the building and clean as well. I will go back to this place.

Room is spacious. Furnishing is old and torn. Bath room and kitchen sink is filthy.. Did not empty my garbage bin for 4 days... Staff are simply amazing and attentive.

There is no decent cafe or restaurant nearby. The closet has an unpleasant smell. The saving grace is the attentive and gracious staff. The room maid is quite honest. We left a tip in the room during cleaning day (without a note though that it was for them), when we returned to the room, the money was still there! The deluxe twin room, though, is spacious. There are complimentary coffee and water daily. Also, they helped us with our laundry. Sadly, their massage service was not available during our stay.

The staff members are really nice, respectful and easy to talk to. The rooms are clean. They provided bottled water, toilet papers and dental kits daily. I just wish they provided shampoos and conditioners and soaps too. We got the Deluxe Family Room and we really enjoyed the ample space. We had 2 toilets with bidet and 2 showers. There was a microwave oven and fridge and kettle, and daily provision of coffee packets. I think they should add tea for people like me though. TV was just ok. The internet is slow though. The aircon smells like wet dog at first but it was ok after at least 30 mins. There’s a lot of stores and restaurants within walking distance. Transportation is easy. We used Grab a lot (it’s like Uber). But there are tricycles and jeepneys if you don’t mind having some adventures. It was actually great. Yes, we’ll probably use this facility again. It has good location and safe. Not perfect but comfortable enough.

This hotel provided us with the perfect stay. The staff are excellent; very professional and attentive. After the first night here I extended my stay for another 12 nights. I stayed in 3 other hotels in Manila before finding Studio 89; this hotel is the only one that did not have any hint of a musty odour. If you are sensitive to odour, this hotel is an excellent choice. It's also close to the University of the Philippines and to the UP Town Centre with many quality restaurants (especially Japanese foods).

Good with Room for Improvement

Lady, the receptionist, was very courteous, professional, and accommodating. In addition, the old male staff that delivered my food and printed material to my room was very kind and efficient! My only reason for the discomfort was that the air conditioning unit is old, needs to dialed to the maximum for a decent cool temperature, and makes terrible loud noise, making it hard for me to sleep.

Needed a quiet clean place to catch up on sleep after missing a bus that is only scheduled a couple of times a day. Instead of waiting at the bus depot breathing in fumes while waiting for the next one we checked in at Studio 89. It was very late at night and with only short notice the receptionist had us quickly checked in. Someone carried our bags for us and we got a peaceful sleep before checking out just as smoothly at 3:30am. Overall we thought an excellent experience at an inexpensive hotel. No frills but clean, quiet, with friendly efficient staff.
