Good evening Paul & SusanThank you for taking time to post your review, we do clearly state on our website that:-'No. 21 York is situated in a beautiful conservation area of St.Mary’s, York and our home is a mid-terrace Victorian Townhouse which is almost two centuries old. Thankfully every effort has been taken to preserve its original character. Many of our rooms feature grand high ceilings and original cornicing – with the odd creaky floorboard too ! Due to our historic and conservation status some of our rooms are snug but have everything that you need'We are sorry that you did not mention this during the various times we chatted during your stay as we may have been able to offer alternative options for you.Kind regardsSimon and Andrea

Simon and Andrea are excellent hosts. They serve a lovely breakfast made to order with fresh baked bread. They even made me gluten free bread! They are knowledgeable about the area and eager to share their information. Would definitely go back.

Posted 30 Jul 2021 on HotelsLovely guest house and great location. Clean and comfortable. Great attention to detail. Really comfy bed, sheets and towels. Breakfast was very nice especially the fresh fruit salad. Simon was very welcoming and we'll definitely be back for another stay.

Posted 13 Dec 2019 on HotelsExcellent location. Quiet but easy walking to York centre 10 mins away. Room was very comfortable, well appointed and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was excellent. Simon and Andrea could not have been more welcoming or accommodating. Highly recommended

Posted 13 Sep 2019 on HotelsSimon and Andrea went out of their way to make us feel extremely comfortable, nothing was too much trouble. The room was lovely, very spacious and very very clean. The breakfast was fantastic, we could take our time and they kept checking that we didn’t want more! Will definitely stay there again when we next visit York!
