The property and staff and everything about the hotel was brilliant my only gripe would be the breakfast was a bit of a let down, very limited food and in particular no beans fried eggs or hash browns

Very nice place but if you have heavy luggage ask for room on 1st floor no elevator but staff is very nice

This hotel has loads of character. If you’re looking for something modern and high-tech, it’s probably not the place for you. But I felt like I got an authentic Yorkshire experience.
The location is really good. Outside the city walls, so it’s easy to maneuver with a car. But only about a 10 minute walk from the center, so it was easy to get there (even in the middle of a rain storm, which I gather is not unusual).
It’s unlikely I’ll travel again to York, as I feel I’ve checked it off the list. But if fate brings me there, I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at the Elmbank again.
