Great weekend escape!
Posted 1 Apr 2018 on HotelsWe loved our weekend at River Ray! I went with a couple friends and my dog, and we all had a lovely time. Very relaxing at the pool and the beach. We even got upgraded to a sweet villa! The staff we great and it was nice to see other people there with their dogs. But the resort area was still clean! The only downside was that the beach is covered in plastic (not the reaort’s fault!) and there was a loud camping group nearby playing extremely loud music. I never really understood if they were part of the resort or not. Overall, we had an excellent time and will definitely be back!! Oh!! I left something small at the villa and the owner had it shipped to me ASAP— such great service :)

Great with dogs but very local
Posted 16 Oct 2017 on HotelsWe have been before at River Ray and enjoyed it again. As we always bring our dog we have to stay in the Wooden House, which we like. Only this time the mattresses haven't been very comfortable. Maybe some more offer for breakfast would be good. Even I do not mind to have only Omlet or Pho. But we had my cousin with us who was first time in VN and for her it wasn't so easy. And beach should be cleaned. We are aware that there has been some flooding and heavy rain, but the beach is just too dirty to use it. Good to walk the dog but not for bathing. Drove to the Vung Tau beach instead.

A remote and quiet place

Pros: The location
Cons: Beach needs to be cleaned up and the bathroom up graded.
Location: We only stayed a day and it was raining as well. We enjoyed just resting and reading.
We were upgraded to a villa even thought we booked for the wooden House since the ad said everything else was full. The resort was completely empty. We were the only guests. We enjoyed the upgrade. The villa was spacious, the bathroom needed updating. The beach was littered with garbage even though it was a beautiful stretch of sand. The pool is lovely. The restaurant provided few choices since there were no guests other than us. It felt like a ghost town. Limited food, no reception to speak of. For breakfast we were promptly told we only have bread and eggs.
The resort has potential but it did not deliver on this occasion.

Failed Potential

However, the property wasn't poorly maintained and infested with mosquitoes, mainly because of the pool (still water attracts mosquitoes, should at least have anti mosquito torches by the dinning area). The room was okay, but the cabin hadn't lots of holes for mosquitoes to crawl through. The only preventive measures taken is a mosquito net over the bed. Not a great experience.

Could have been better for the price

Great staff; poor facilities
Posted 19 Oct 2015Staff was great and very accommodating. However, the facilities were subpar. You do get access to a clean beach all to yourself since hardly anyone else was around.

Relaxing stay in a beautiful location
Posted 28 Jul 2015 on HotelsMy friend and I had a get-away weekend from HCMC and this peaceful coastal location was perfect. Don't come here if you want clubs and entertainment; the attraction here is environmental - beach,river,birds,butterflies,trees. I felt really taken care of by the pleasant, attentive Vietnamese staff here but there could have been more attention to detail: a hairdryer in the room as advertised, sufficient toiletries as advertised, a spare toilet roll in the bathroom etc. More information on Hotels.com on how to get from Vung Tau to Ray River Estates would also have been appreciated (after the hydrofoil from HCMC to Vung Tau, the hotel can provide transport for the 1 hour trip at 600,000VND or you can take a taxi for around 800,000VND.)My friend appreciated the clean beach and the good swimming - but no chairs were available for sitting under the palm trees. I preferred the pool and outdoor spa pool - but the wooden sun lounges had no mattresses to cushion my ancient bones! I will return to the Ray River Estates because the environment is peaceful, beautiful and just what the doctor ordered after a working week in busy HCMC. Next time I'd like an upstairs room in one of the wooden buildings rather than downstairs; the beach villas are also excellent but I prefer a view of a fisherman and his wife setting nets on the calm river.

The place was okay..
Posted 7 Dec 2018 on HotelsSome people would like this type of cottage type room, for breakfast you get a choice between eggs and bread or instant noodles with meat. Overall I was okay with the place but if you are looking for a nice resort with nice swimming pool and beach then this is not it.

Khách sạn đã quá cũ cần nâng cấp
Posted 28 Mar 2017 on HotelsNhân viên thân thiện. Khách sạn đã cũ, cũ về kết cấu lẫn nội thất bên trong, tất cả đồ gỗ trong phòng đều đã quá cũ - nhiều chỗ mối mọt ăn hết gỗ. Ưu điểm là gần biển, yên tĩnh, cách âm tốt. Giá quá mắc so với chất lượng phòng. Không có ý định quay lại lần hai.
