Overbooked, no room available.

Posted 23 Jan 2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Booking system with accuracy
Booked a pet friendly room through Expedia one week prior to arrival and paid with credit card. Specified at the time of booking that we had two dogs, to highlight this fact, even though the booking confirmed this. When we arrived and the dogs were mentioned, we were quickly informed that under no circumstances were the dogs allowed in the room. They could be crated outside. This was untenable, as we booked the room due to the 37 degree heat being experienced in the area over that weekend and the fact we had double coated dogs. I explained that we had driven over 3 hours to arrive there. Proprietors tried to find us alternative accomodation at the local Hotel and Motel, but no aircon with one and the other was unavailable. Proprietors were unsympathetic, reinterated that we couldn't stay, offered us a refund and so, we left. This was certainly not country hospitality. Luckily after more phone calls in the car, we eventually found pet friendly accomodation and with country hospitality.

Unfortunately the Dog requirements for this booking were not relayed to the B & B. A refund was issued immediately. If we were unsympathetic we would not have phoned around for you to find alternative accommodation. We followed protocol all the way.

Up Country B&B Wondai Qld

Posted 22 Jan 2017 on Wotif
Pros: The whole experience.
Cons: Get the additional dog friendly accommodation as discussed and the stay will be even better. Maybe add a Torana or two to the car collection.
Location: Quiet town with great pubs, an IGA that's well stocked and open long hours - very neat town with plenty of friendly people..
This was our first overnight stay in Wondai for us and our daughter at Up Country B&B, the grounds are well kept and neat. All rooms are spotless and the fact they have specific accommodation (Cottage) where you can have your dog is a real benefit. I'm told they will be adding additional dog friendly accommodation in the near future which is great. The cooked breakfast was very generous and both hosts couldn't do enough for you. Being on six acres of land you didn't notice any traffic noise albeit the highway is hardly busy and Wondai itself is a charming little township with very friendly people throughout. We will definitely be returning.

Peaceful and super friendly

Posted 20 Apr 2016 on Wotif
Pros: The owners of the B&B and the facilities.
Cons: Cleaning out the spider webs in the cottage.
Location: We stayed for a Garden Expo. There was also an orchid show and art exhibition. Nearby was a masquerade ball on the same night. Wineries also nearby.
Wonderful hosts! The B&B main house was fully booked so we were put in the cottage which was very private and had everything you could want for entertainment. This was our second stay, last year we stayed in the main house and it too was very comfortable. We were made to feel so very welcome. Thanks Donna and Chris for your lovely hospitality.
