We booked this property as dog friendly , and after making the booking I contacted the property to request an early check in , which was an extra £20 , which I was happy to pay , I mentioned we were bringing 2 small dogs , the lady said they had no more dog friendly rooms ! As such we had to go through the annoying process of cancelling the booking with Expedia . Which was long winded . There should be dog friendly rooms listed on the room selection. However every cloud ! We managed to book a dog friendly room at the Windermere Hillthwaite , wow what a lovely place , staff amazing and highly recommend going with your furry friends 👍

The total is tired and in need of some renovation. The room is ok and clean.

Staff helpful, hotel tired in all areas, floorboards squeaked all over my room and in the corridor. Looking forward to fried breakfast, when the waiter came to take my order, I was in the door g friendly area, I said what’s the options and he said full English without saying what it consists of. I just said no tomato without knowing if it was on there. When it came it was very overcooked though the scrambled egg was good. Would I stay again n? No, it is as more like a hostel

Had a very surprising experience, paid £65 for 1 single room and didn’t expect much due to the price, just something cheap and cheerful, maybe a bit dated. Room massively surpassed expectations - view of lake Windermere, minimal white/grey design, really clean, and to top it off, an amazing power shower that went ARCTIC COLD (for those who do cold showers, this one’s for you). Had the best stay! Also, it’s right next to the entrance for the walk up to Orrest head for a full panoramic view of Windermere. Perfection.

Flying visit for Windermere marathon. Did exactly what we needed and surprisingly quiet.
