The venue was nice but felt a little tired. The window in the room we had did not shut properly as it was broken. The table in the room was sticky and dusty. The lift had a very poor paint job. The bar had a limited choice of drinks However the staff were friendly and the food at breakfast was good. Unfortunately there was a lack of small plates on the 1st morning and on the 2nd morning although there was a pile of plates in was actually a mixture of plates and saucers. It felt as if the place was being run half hartedly

Unfortunately we arrived the day after the hotel had been full by a large group and the staff had great difficulty in catching up, rooms delayed, breakfast a bit of a mess up, this is the third stay at this hotel, previously excellent.

The hotel positives. Comfy beds and a nice varied buffet breakfast with nice real coffee available. The gym was well equipped. The steam room and pool were pretty dirty actually. The hotel is set in lovely grounds and if the weather is nice lovely to sit outside with a drink after dinner. Our room was basic and dark. My advice is check if there’s a wedding or function going on. We found the corridors very noisy and don’t expect to get to sleep before 12 midnight. It quieten down about 1 am. I am sure if no function then this would be earlier. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel if you are looking for a nice quiet relaxing break. The spa is small and with only a few guests seems very busy. There was a lovely small through reception. I wish I could be a bit more positive.

Loved this hotel. Really quiet location. Room was lovely and clean. Staff were helpful and very friendly. Spa and pool area was immaculate . We didn’t eat dinner but breakfast was lovely with a really good selection and loads of choice We’ve already rebooked for May.

I loved the food we had with you, breakfast,dinner. The staff were very friendly, helpful. The setting was very refreshing, relaxing. I did enjoy the stay with you.

The old manor looks lovely. The New building does not look at all apprpriate in the beautiful setting.
