Clean but meal quality was inconsistent and wi-fi was terrible. Bistro was like school camp with adults rationed and no seconds offered. Front bbq restaurant was excellent.

Friendly staffs. No park in front of my room as I was told. The room doesn't have a TV, minibar and also is really warm. It most likely a Hostel instead Hotel.

Hi Deborah, Thank you for your email and for choosing to stay at Ski Rider. We are happy to hear you had a positive experience with our staff. Parking is unallocated but spread throughout the property- apologies if this was miscommunicated to you. Reception can be unreliable due to our national park location but we do have boosters in the main building with free guest wifi and 2x TV lounges with Netflix for guest use. Our hotel is designed for those who wish to explore the area and beautiful national park. Our rooms vary from double/twin-share to 6-share rooms to accommodate families but are all private with ensuite bathrooms. Thanks again!

Nice spot, clean and cosy. Dining room had good, hearty meals. Nice family vibe throughout. Very attentive staff. Very convenient to Perisher.

Horrible receptionists for such an expensive price

Posted 1 Jul 2019 on Hotels
The foods and the ski hire basically saved the whole hotel. The people at the reception didn’t do anything to help us and clearly expressed they didn’t want to involve in anything more complicated than showing us the dining hall. 1. Transportation: we asked if they can assist us in booking a transportation to the airport. They immediately refused, “We don’t do that here” even after we explained the mobile service didn’t work in the area, and after acknowledging that they still replied, “You can go up to Perisher”. We also told them we didn’t drive they said they didn’t do that here. 2. I have a small wound that needed to be cleansed so we asked if they have a first aid kit or help us in some way. Both of them replied, “We have the kit but we’re not allowed to give you anything.” and offered no further explanation. A young staff told us to go to the pharmacy in town and again we said we didn’t have a car and it’s already 8PM so no shuttle to Perisher. She repeated, “Oh ok we are not allowed to give you anything” 3. We needed to cash out and fully understand the maximum is $100/time/person. So we, a group of 5 adults with 5 cards, asked if we could cash out $300, they refused, “We can’t let you do that”. So we couldn’t even get $100. Even the drivers were more helpful to us. We never asked for anything out of order or illegal but they treated us as if we violated some laws. Is this racist, because I saw them help other families, or simply unhelpful, we never know?

We are disappointed that you do not feel as though you received appropriate assistance from reception whilst you were here. We don't normally provide assistance with transport to airports. Perhaps the receptionist you spoke with misunderstood your requirement. We are able to suggest transport companies who provide transfers and I believe that in this instance, because your phone did not receive service, that the receptionist offered you the use of our office phone. In relation to your small wound, I apologise. In many instances we can help by providing items from our first aid kit. It is unfortunate that at the time when you made your request at reception another guest in the hotel was experiencing a major medical emergency. If our receptionist trivialised your request, it would only have been due to her attention being diverted. We are sorry that you were not assisted on this occasion as all our guests and their well-being is of the upmost importance to us. Your request for an individual $500 cash out transaction was refused based on company policy. Ski Rider is situated in a bush setting 20km away from the nearest town. The town of Jindabyne is a regional base with banking facilities operating as a reduced service. Most of our guests operate on a cashless system, paying with credit card or using eftpos facilities. Ski Rider carries only a limited amount of cash on premises. We have a cash out limit of $100. Three members of your party were able to withdraw $100 each. The receptionist you spoke with was happy to perform these transactions for you. We take great pride in providing all our guests at Ski Rider, with the best experience possible, this includes all nationalities, religious denominations, genders, guests with disabilities etc. We are sorry you felt you were excluded from this.

11 km to Perisher

We enjoyed the atmosphere in the grill lounge, the grill was very tasty, the buffet was adequate. All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We were disappointed in the quality of the beds and bedding, they were very tiered and the mattresses need urgent replacement. Overall it’s a very handy location, free internet would be appreciated. Expensive for what you get.

The one day stay was lovely. The staff were very helpful and accommodating and the room was very cosy and warm. I will definately keep this lovely accommodation option in mind next time I am at Perisher.
