Needs to improve the quality of customer service and food variety. Very bad experience with vip department. I don’t think I’m coming back to this hotel and I don’t recommend it

I orginally booked this room back in March 2024 for a business/leisure trip with my husband and kids. I SPECIFICALLY choose this hotel because of the beautiful swimming pool as i was going to be away for several hours with our families transportation and wanted .y family to fill there time with hanging out at the pool during my absence. Once we arrived a sign stated the pool was closed for maintenance. I was never informed of this scheduled maintenance or compt for the inconvenience. My family spent the entire 3-4 days bored in a hotel room! Worst part was, there was NEVER any update given regarding the pool, I stumbled on a family dress to swim while washing our clothes on our final day and saw the pool was reopend. I spoke with the front desk amd they looked more puzzled than I!

I liked that the hotel was convientently located closed to attractions and museum in Arlington.
It was great to know that breakfast was included with the hotel stay. However, I did not like that it was the same breakfast everyday, and the eggs have cheese. A variety would have been grest considering my family and I stayed for six days.

2 adults and 1 preschool-aged child
Pros: easy access to Huntington metro with parking. Plentiful parking on site. Quick and friendly check in. Good breakfast. Comfortable bed. Loved the trundle pull out sofa- 4 year old thought it was the coolest thing.
Cons: White socks were far from white after a short while walking around the room. The trundle mattress would not work for an older kid or adult (very unsupportive, but perfect for a small child). Very popular with large school groups- can make for some very loud hallways. We were in an accessible room so the bathroom (toilet and shower only) was very large, but the closest place to hang a towel was at least 6-8 feet away from the shower, which would have made it very difficult for someone with mobility issues to safely get out of the shower.

Beware that they clean your room “every other day”.
They could also use some new towels. The towels that we had were washed/reused so much that they were terribly thin. Most times I take my own towels but forgot to do so this time.
Lastly, they didn’t clean the room thoroughly since the last customer as there were several beer bottle caps near one of the headboards.

This hotel was clean and had a decent breakfast. There was a foul odor coming from the vanity sink. The pillows were flat as well. Other than those two things, I would recommend this hotel needing a hotel that is fairly close to the Alexandria Waterfront area.
