Even though it states sound proof rooms - they are certainly not. Can hear everything from people in room next to you showering or running a tap, people outside walking, and a dog next door barking. Also penalties apply for travelling for business, which is fine however there is no mention of this until after you have booked your non refundable booking

Nice stay at this motel in Wanaka. We stayed in the two bedroom - the beds were comfortable, the kitchen had basic utensils (as well as Teas and Coffee), but no cooking oil. The laundry was really convenient and nice - cost $5 for one load (both wash and dry). Staff were really friendly and helpful! I would stay here again and would recommend it!

This reservation was cancelled on 13/02/24, which is when we requested a booking. Manuka said they had cancelled this. I see a charge has been raised and demand it be reversed.

Hotelier cancelled booking!

The hotelier lectured my wife twice over the phone on using Expedia to book, stating we should be supporting NZ businesses by booking direct, and not sending money offshore to the US. On arrival, I had to listen to the same spiel, and also that he had cancelled our Expedia booking, as discussed with my wife, which was an outright lie!! She did not authorise him to do so. He also rebooked our room direct so he didn’t have to pay fee’s to Expedia (hoteliers words). He discounted us a few dollars less than our Expedia cost…wow!! Because of this we have now lost loyalty rewards of around 4-5 times the value. We travel a lot, and always book through the app, but we shouldn’t have be confronted over how we book. We don’t have time to ring around trying to find available rooms; and we shouldn’t have to justify why we book the way we do either. We will not stay here again, nor will we recommend. If planning on booking through the app to get rewards, I wouldn’t bother as you probably won’t get them! Other than that, the room was fine.

Our conditions of stay do not allow corporate or in-trade bookings through this channel. We cancelled your request and we notice you were accommodated differently with a discounted rate. You seem to have issues with expedia which you may be better to raise elsewhere. We thank you for your time.
