Hilton Grand Vacations Club Ocean Tower Waikoloa Village
8/10 Good
"Beautiful resort, great room and service but be prepared to walk a lot. The tram system doesn’t work that well by the end of our stay we didn’t even bother checking the schedule we just walked and beat the team most of the time. Also the cost to park is outrageous. You get charged $50/day. Highest rate I’ve experienced. Staff were wonderful and very helpful. The Concierge was fantastic. We enjoyed all the activities she planned for us; top notch adventures. The pool was nice but renting a double-lounger was $175/day, ridiculous. Most were empty until midday when the price reduced to $100 (after 1 PM). If they lowered the cost they’d get more rented. "
"What an amazing stay! I cannot express how awesome this place is. Multiple pools with waterslides were awesome, restaurant and bar directly by the main pools. Several hot tubs, BBQS, kids area, hotel functions daily, (live music, hula dancing, making leis, shave ice, yoga in the morning sunshine, free golf range and clubs...) I could go on and on!!!
This property was within a mile from several shops and restaurants, Dolphin Quest, and other Hilton properties we were allowed free access and parking to... Not to mention the all the beaches within walking distance and others within a 15 minute drive.
I cannot wait to visit with the family again, it was truly paradise!!!"
"Everything was fantastic! The only odd thing is that there wasn’t a headboard on the bed. The staff was very kind! If you look at the window latch on the courtyard side of the room, it might say “made in occupied Japan” on the knob, which if you know your history, it should give you a solid idea on the age of the hotel. But the place is in great shape, seems freshly remodeled, and really is quite a treasure. The song of the night birds is mesmerizing! One word of caution for late arrivals though: everything in the village closes at 8PM or earlier. If you landed at Kona in the evening, and you want anything for the night, you better get it in Kona.
I will absolutely return to this amazing place!"
"Our check in was incredible. We got to check in early, we requested an upgrade and were given a room that was available. They left us a gift in our room for our Babymoon. The staff were exceedingly friendly at every level, and the room servicing was efficient and amazing. We had a wonderful spa day during our stay and our only note there is that it’s only missing a cold plunge. Food was amazing at Brown’s and the breakfast buffet is really good as well as the happy hour —shoutout to Christian at the bar who made us a custom drink and wrote it down so we could request it even when he wasn’t on shift. Great snorkeling with complimentary equipment for 1 hour (which is more than enough to see all the amazing fish, coral, and sea turtles). Very family friendly and we can’t wait to come back with our kids."
"The whole experience at Mauna Lani was top-notch. Food is terrific (especially Canoe House; fabulous meal and service!), hospitality was warm and welcoming, the room was clean and comfortable with an incredible view, the golf courses and pools and beach amenities were five-star, and the overall vibe was relaxing and posh without being pretentious. Excited to return…hopefully soon!"
"As advertised, the staff is exemplary! All you need to do is ask and a member of the staff will fulfill your request quickly. We had a problem with our TV and they replaced the entire TV in about 15 minutes. The staff has a sense of pride when it comes to making sure everything works at Mauna Kea and that all of your needs are met!
Our room was meticulously cleaned daily and again, you can ask housekeeping for anything and they will respond to the request promptly.
You won't find a better beach than the one at Mauna Kea Beach. It's an all sand beach as far as you can walk out into the ocean.
I highly recommend the Mauna Kea Beach hotel and will return there in the future. "
