Booked this as a last minute trip and Waikiki Malia offered the cheapest for a decent hotel and it sooo did NOT disappoint. We booked the newly renovated room and did NOT find a single thing that went wrong with our stay. Paia Fish Market and Marugame are literally about a 2 min walk. The location is pretty much in the middle. We loved every single day of our stay.

The good: Friendly staff, clean facilities, nice decor, walkable neighborhood, conveniently right by a bus/shuttle stop.
The bad: Some elevator design quirks; more sound penetration from the adjoining room and cooling fans atop the building next door than one might otherwise prefer; and the laundry change machine was empty forcing one either to go in search of quarters or to go buy detergent elsewhere.
Overall, though, a good value for the price.

This is a boutique hotel so don’t expect anything big. Bathroom is tiny but it does the job. You’re not there to spend time in the hotel so keep that in mind. Room was clean and location was perfect. Staff was very helpful and nice. Parking garage is tiny but we only used it for the one day we rented a car to go explore. This is a great hotel and walkable to mostly everything.
