Lovely little hotel in a small french town
Posted 26 Sep 2018 on HotelsFriendly owner tried his best to accommodate our needs. Slightly far from the train station. They provide adequate dinner and breakfast. No 24 hour reception table, if you wanna have a late check in or a very early check out you have to inform the owner before hand

We love the 'Logis de France' !!
Posted 4 Jun 2015 on Hotelssecond visit for us. Vivy is a convenient half way point between Treignac and St Malo and so we like to break our journey there. Parking is easy and there are ground floor rooms with 'disabled' facilities.
The hotel also has a very good restaurant, and a good buffet breakfast. It is also great that there is also a local customer base which gives the hotel 'character'

Friendly, attentive hotel - cheap, too!

Pros: Warm welcome, efficient service, great restaurant, position.
Cons: The front facing rooms have no aircon, and in high summer it can get pretty hot.
Location: Very close to old city of Saumur, within cycling distance of several pretty Loire villages, and by car within easy reach of the whole of the Loire.
The St Paul is a commercial hotel, in the sense that it caters for unpretentious business people as well as tourists - but note, while its facilities are modest and its position on a main road not exactly scenic, it has a really excellent restaurant. The proprietors are welcoming and multi-lingual. The location - about six km out of Saumur - is extremely convenient. The surrounding countryside is charming and rural. It has a pool and a pleasant garden. The village of Vivy itself has very little to offer and is dominated by the main highway.
The hotel also costs peanuts, though it would be worth the few euros extra to upgrade to one of the superior rooms, which are at the back and away from the traffic.

Plain hotel with a good restaurant
Posted 27 Jun 2013
Pros: Food, staff, bicycle storage
Cons: Bar section of the hotel
Location: Saumur has a fantastic chateau well worth the visit alone. Saumur has a pretty and thriving city centre. Right beside the Loire, which is just stunnib
The hotel looks plain enough from the outside and, indeed, the bar section of the hotel is rather unprepossessing. The restaurant attatched to the hotel and hiding in a series of side rooms was excellent. Staff at the hotel and restaurant were excellent. Secure bicycle storage was provided.
The hotel was a few kilometers out of Saumur. Nice rooms, lovely food. Worth considering.
