Nice stay but listing a bit misleading....
Posted 12 Jul 2017 on HotelsListing on hotels.com a bit misleading. My three kids were craving wifi, which was one of the factors leading to reserving this hotel. However, it's not available in the apartments just by the reception/breakfast area.
Also...we did not need AC as it was cool at night while we were there. However, there is no AC in individual units unless the owner turn it on for the whole complex. Not a big issue save for one: no screens on the windows. Had to choose between comfort vs letting a few flies in. This is common in my travels in Spain, and may be a cultural difference/preference, but since it would so cheap to put screens on windows this has always puzzled me.
Last criticism, found here but also in many other locations in Spain.....the glass for the shower covers half of it and for a tall person it is difficult to avoid getting the bathroom floor wet.
On the plus side, the location is tranquil, apartment clean, and the owners were very responsive and pleasant in terms of customer service. A nice stay overall.

Pros: As per the experience comment
Cons: As per the experience comment
Location: As per the experience comment
The Hotel is a very convenient distance from the port of Gijon if you travelled by ferry, only 35 minutes transfer by car.
The hotel is very pretty from the outside and it offers good facilities for breakfast etc considering you're in a self catering apartment.
Thinks that are good about the location and apartments;
1. Good access to excellent Beaches and town Villaviciosa (5 to 20 mins by car)
2. Easy access and parking
3. Apartments on the second floor are spacious and well decorated. (Two separate bedrooms or more, we were moved to the first floor after one week which only had one bedroom and smaller living space)
4. Friendly staff. (Only one lady spoke English so this was a bit of a struggle)
reas for improvement;
1. The mattresses were to hard and I didn't get one good nights sleep. (Dead arm when sleeping on side)
2. When on the ground floor, our Spanish guests tend to go to bed late (midnight or later, 2 different couples, showers at 12:30) , make a lot of noise and this woke our two and half year old up many times
3. None of the information provided in the rooms was available in English so this proved challenging
4. Equipment in the kitchens was lacking, no peeler, kettle, toaster or vegetable/pasta drainer and knifes were blunt and bent.
5.Small point but a apartment for four beds only have towel hanging space for 3 towels which is a bit annoying.
6. Air con didn't work after several requests in two apartments.

Truly a wonderful place to stay
Posted 2 Jul 2013 on HotelsWhen we drove up, we couldn't believe the beauty of the surroundings of the hotel. Then we went into the rooms/ mini apartments. Wow! Such beauty and cleanliness. There aren't enough stars to describe how amazing it was! The family that runs the hotel is lovely and friendly and went out of their way to satisfy us. The included breakfast was delicious. The hotel is tucked away in a charming town in Northern Spain, untouched by city life. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to go back.
