Good room & food/Poor training & customer service

The receptionist stubbornly kept my original citizen ID card which was legally not required and allowed. Even after I explained to him that he had no right to keep it but OK to make a copy of its for temporary residence register with the police. But he still said it was a must to keep the original one required by the Police even though I already pre-paid my whole trip. They did not ask for deposit tho.
I was so tired after the working day so just let him keep it. He promised to return it at midnight after registration but it did not happen as I was so tired and slept early.
Once entering the room, I called the hotline of Muong Thanh group. I told her the whole story and she strongly said it was mandatory to keep the original citizen ID card for locals and passports for foreigners for the registration with police and that's the regulation. I know well it wasn't but since they said the local police asked for so I had no choice.
A few hours later, she called me back saying that the regulation did not require the original one but just the personal info of the guest. And maybe the receptionist was in rush so he didn't have time to make a copy. And I replied I told her the whole story so well that I already explained to him what was the right way and argued with him in a soft way. She then changed to say that MT has 52 hotels so they couldn't train all well and I should empathize for them.
This isn't the 1st time with MT.

It is disappointing that you have these views and that we did not have the opportunity to discuss with you to resolve. We are always striving to deliver the service that our guests expect and what we expect of ourselves but it seems that we have fallen short of these expectation in some areas.
First of all, we regrettably noted that this experience did not leave you with good impression and we sincerely apologize.
Related to your concerns about residence register, we do know that each locality has its own policy. In Phu Tho, the local police require the original citizen ID card for this, it’s obligatory and out of control. We understand that it’s so complicated but we just can do as the government requirement.
About the discussion though groups hotline, there may have been some misunderstanding and we had a meeting with our head office about this problem, we definitely take your comments seriously in our quest to improve.
Your satisfaction is most important to us. I hope we can welcome you back to the hotel in the near future and would certainly like the opportunity to meet. Please do let us know if you plan to return. Thank you again for sharing your feedback and we look forward to having another opportunity to better your experience with us.

Seamless Stay

Pros: Very close to Vincom Shopping Plaza.
Cons: No complaints whatsoever.
Location: Hung Temple is located nearby; temple for the Hung Vuong kings. Arguably Vietnam's most sacred site and birthplace of the Vietnamese culture.
Well appointed, spotless room with very comfortable beds. Nice breakfast buffet selection. Amenable and professional service. No problems whatsoever. Very close to Vincom Shopping Plaza.
