Historic house in a lovely setting
Posted 31 Jul 2017 on HotelsAn amazing place to stay - an ancestral family home with beautiful grounds and a great outdoor pool. Made very welcome by the owner. Don't expect the trappings of a modern hotel though ( e.g. Air conditioning or modern tech). Some might find it old fashioned but if you like historic houses then you won't find better.

It is a great pleasure to receive guests who understand this concept, which is to stay in a old manor house n a farm as it is many centuries ago and where there is the possibility of living with us, as its owner, here forever. I am very grateful for your coming. Thank you and very much.

Pros: almost nothing
Cons: its in the sticks
Location: not near anything and getting there on/off the expressways is a pain. need GPS to find
this place was NOT in the city we requested, in fact, it was 10 miles from the requested city. Secondly the room smelled musty and the bedsheets had been laid down forever. pray that somebody does not flush a toilet within the building otherwises there goes the water pressure. look elsewhere.
