The hotel is in a beautiful setting and the exterior is gorgeous. The staff is very welcoming and friendly. The hotel itself needs some updating.

A fabulous hotel/ Check in is at 4pm, no earlier!
Posted 21 Jun 2023 on HotelsFabulous hotel with a couple of caveats.... Beautiful public spaces and lovely rooms. First experience when attempting to check in a couple of hours early or at least drop our luggage was met with a dismissive attitude by male front desk clerk whose name we did not get. Take this hotel at its word that check in is at 4pm and not a moment earlier.... Also there are only 4 parking spaces at the hotel which you need to reserve in advance.
When we did check in around 5pm, we were warmly greeted by Laurente, who was friendly and very helpful with things to do near Vezelay for our next day. We ate at L'Eternal in the the hotel that evening and it was fantastic! The service and food were truly delightful!
Also the service at the bar was fantastic. This is truly a very very lovely hotel and we would highly recommend it!

Interesting history to this old coaching inn. Obviously the rooms have had to be altered and adapted to cater for modern requirements. In spite of being on the main road through the village the traffic was no problem. Prices reflect its 4 star status. Staff were most helpful and efficient.
