The hotel is an easy walk from the rail station and near vaporetto stops. The staff was terrific, very friendly.
We expected to skip breakfast in favor of photographing in early morning light, but it rained both days we were there. There was a wide variety of food, everything from pastries to scrambled eggs, meat and cheese, even a make your own pancake machine.
We got a no view room since we intended to be out all day. It was clean and comfortable. The only criticism I have is the bathroom floor was a little higher than the bedroom and a tripping hazard.
Although it's supposed to be the rougher part of town, we felt perfectly safe walking around. Lots of touristy souvenir shops and restaurants, also found a couple nice grocery stores.

This is such a great place to stay!! Yes it seems old but well taken care of. We had a canal view room with a balcony, it was a winner!! The room was spacious and clean. Staff were helpful with the luggage. Breakfast wasnt too bad either, could be a bit better but still great. Had good variety but quality was a bit low.
AC in the room could use a repair, at some points it wasnt cold. Wifi was great.
Location was very convienent, right next to the train station which meant we didnt carry any luggage upany stairs. We walked everywhere from that location, lots to see.

Old and musty Small rooms. Sub par bath and shower. Front desk staff seems agitated with the tourists that visit.
