Super friendly staff. Extremely clean and spacious. Right in the lake. Couldnt ask for a better stay !!

We love this hotel and have stayed several times. This time, we enjoyed the sauna and swimming in the lake. We did not take advantage of breakfast, which is available for an additional fee, because our room featured a full kitchen and there is a grocery store nearby where we could purchase Austrian delicacies. Se we made our own breakfast.
We liked the fact that you can walk from the hotel to the center of town, which features a casino and other activities. Velden is an elegant and popular lakeside resot. We happened to see the International Sports Car Festival, which was quite the event! For dinner, we ordered pizza from the Pizzeria De Klade. That was delicious.
The only downside was the narrow parking spaces near the hotel rooms. One of our neighbors did not park between the white lines, and that made it difficult for us to maneuver. But the hotel receptionist contacted the neighbor and resolved the issue gracefully.
Thanks to the staff at the Barry Memle Lake Side Resort! We hope to be back!

Disappointed
Posted 8 Mar 2023 on HotelsWe booked a “3 bedroom” unit at 50% higher price and were put in a 2 bedroom unit. In the morning I was told that the fold-out bed in the living/dining area counted as the 3rd “bedroom”. The bed wasn’t made up for us and we three adults wanted our own bedroom as promised.
Secondly, the “free WiFi” will not let you connect unless you agree to have your details shared with others for marketing purposes. No thanks, too much spam now and I’ve never been forced to share my info before.

Thank you.You got a 3 bedroom apartment with 4 beds exactly for the rate you have booked.You need not to regitry for usiong our highspeed wifi.Just us this option when connecting or ask us before writing wring things to the public!Greetings

It was quiet, we were given an excellent room with a view of the lake from the balcony. We booked specifically because it said washing machine & free parking included. We had a choice of 2 in the area that fulfilled our need & went for the more expensive on the lake.
The amenities list made it very clear that there were a few things that incurred an extra charge but the washing machine wasn't amongst them. We assumed it was included and in our room. The room had no washing machine, so we called reception and explained the issue and that we only chose it for this reason. The owner assured us that he would sort it and true to his word I went with him and put the laundry on, which he said he would dry and leave at reception for us in the morning. We asked if there was a charge and were assured that he was the owner and it was sorted. The shock and disappointment were that he added 20 Euros (double the normal cost) for the laundry because "the owner had done it for us"!
This was shamefully dishonest. We had made it very clear that we would go to the other hotel nearby and did not want it done if there was a charge. When I complained he then said 10 3uros but I again refused and he reluctantly took the 20 euros off the bill.
It left a very sour taste that after telling me "it's all about the service" he tried this. They shouldn't advertise washing machine included if what they actually offer is a very expensive laundry service.
Greedy. Shameful.

We are very sorry for this misunderstanding.
We think it's absolutely OK that you
1. Got a larger apartment free of charge from us for the same price, even with a lake view
2. Personally, I was allowed to wash your laundry late in the evening, which I really enjoyed doing for you!
BUT
We think it's absolutely not OK that
1. You weren't even ready to pay the low cost of just 10, - for it
2. I hadn't promised you that this would also be included
3. It doesn't say anywhere that we do your laundry for free
and
4. You also give us a bad rating as a thank you
You know what?
We really like to do everything possible for our guests
Sorry, but your rating only makes us sad.
Really now!
We find your immeasurable greed and, on top of that, your defamation not only embarrassing but also sad and completely inappropriate.
