Stay - Extra comfy bed in King room with huge bathroom and central courtyard. Loved the theme and cleanliness. Breakfast was huge and enough!! Beach is just 2 minutes but you can't hear much of the waves. Dinner was delecious and plentiful. Thank you Manjulal for the care. Ayurveda Treatment- I was there several years ago by recommendations of my friends who had treatment there several times. It was absolutely great! Great value, super pancha karma and of course service of the doctor Sunil and everyone who worked with me, i loved it, thank you again and again. Would highly recommend...

Dysfunctional Budget hotel

Posted 4 Mar 2019 on Hotels
Worst stay at a hotel possibly ever. Most of my complaints have been mentioned in other reviews going back years. Management prefers to respond with ‘new management sir no worry’ or ‘maybe you stayed somewhere else’ This isn’t a retreat of any kind. The entrance and courtyard is quite nice but that’s just a facade literally and figuratively. Room wasn’t cleaned both days, breakfast was inedible, trash was deposited right outside my room. Know this property is 15 MINUTES from the beach, an indirect route the first few hundred metres of which is not lit at night. The property misleads people by stating 0.1 km away give me a break. Compare my pictures of the yoga floor with their own. Sadly the property has potential, but management is a mess. I would bet against them making changes. I should also mention the open window in the bathroom has NO mosquito net, needless to say i was eaten alive. In a nutshell...the poor service at this property does not make up its less than ideal location.

Massive let down

Posted 10 Dec 2018 on Hotels
We arrived with high expectations and left disappointed. Paying a little extra to stay in a place that gave the impression of a spa and yoga facilities clearly didn’t have any. The reception and eating area were lovely, a big open space with trees going through the centre off the building. We ate breakfast on the first morning and it felt lovely and relaxed. The downsides, we were woken every morning by banging and crashing above our room. Thinking it may be from the yoga studio, we ventured upstairs to find a completely empty space with old furniture in it. This happened every morning around 6:00am. The hot water and air con didn’t now work in our room and to be fair to the staff, they offered to move us on the last night. The view from the window overlooked a part of the hotel that was full of rubbish. To cap it off, a member of staff walked into our room on day two without knocking. We were changing at the time and there was no apology. It was a complete accident but all the same, not good. Shame because it promised so much and didn’t live up to it’s expectations.

Beautiful peaceful stay- Absolutely Loved it!!

Cosy bright room, nicely decorated with traditional and yoga postures! Exceptional breakfast with a combination of continental and local delicacies. Very cordial staffs. We will definitely return for next year! if anyone wants to relax and enjoy the property this is the right place to be. I would definitely return again and recommend to my friends.

Poor stay but could have been so much better.

Posted 30 Nov 2016 on Hotels
Our room was basic: bed; ceiling fan; bathroom. The cleanliness of the room was poor: mould on the bathroom tiles and some on bedroom walls. The 'included' breakfast was meagre by the standards we have so far experienced in our 8 week trip to India: 3 pieces of toast; 1 egg omelette; tea/coffee. It was served with varying degrees of efficiency: sometimes the omelette was cold; or the toast was cold. The staff were pleasant. The pity is that all the factors which were poor could easily be rectified i.e clean the room properly and repainted it; have some organisation at breakfast. I think if these things were to happen our scoring for the property would have been significantly higher, and it might have justified the price of the room!

Nothing nice to say about this place!

Posted 24 Aug 2015 on Hotels
Thankfully we only booked one night here. We checked in, and whilst completing the paper work the guy on the desk sprayed our room with goodness knows what. I think it was some sort of deodoriser to mask the dank, musty smell of our room. We went to our room and dumped our bags and went for dinner, a feeling of dread consumed me over dinner knowing we had to spend the night there. It was a sleepless night due to the wet, yes wet not just damp mattress. The smell of mould and mildew was appalling. As there is no screens on the windows there is no way to ventilate the room without being massacred by mosquitoes. As soon as the sun came up we almost ran from this awful, awful place. I really have nothing good to say about this ' resort' not even the staff can save them as they all seemed abit sleazy. There are many other nice places in Varkala for a fraction of the cost. Avoid Kshetra!

Try and avoid suggesting this hotel to any one. The very basic amenities like TV, normal drinking water, mosquito repellent were not available. There are much better hotels available within the same price range giving much better services. This hotel is definitely not worth the grading that you have given it.

There is no ventillation provided in the rooms. In non a/c rooms if u close all the windows there is just no visible air entry provisions provided in the rooms ie no ventilators nor air holes. There is only 1 tubelight in standard rooms, no night lamps ie no other bulbs. The water is hard. There are neighbouring houses very close to one side of the resort that sort off infringes on ones privacy though the residents there dont peep or bother to look into the resort. The way to the resort is full of potholes and muddy bumpy ride, they would do well if it is repaired. The quality of service is good and the staff are courteous and polite, but if the deficiencies are attended to the stay there would be much better.
