Clean, friendly staff, beautiful beach at resort. No AC, extremely hot, said they were eco resort on marine reserve but forced us to buy plastic water bottles for four days. Every other small beach on island filled with trash and garbage from the currents. Filled.

things not mentioned on Hotels.com 1. Yes there is a restaurant but you can not order food and there is no menu. You eat what the cook prepares and when the cook says so. If you are hungry any other time of day - too bad . If you don’t like what is prepared- too bad. They tried their best to accommodate our food needs. 2. The rooms say amenities - no shampoo, no shower gel, no razors, tooth brushes , water etc bring everything , nothing is included but a towel. 3. There is no ac . There is a ceil dan biut he second night we had to ask for a fan bec it was too hot to sleep 4. No internet in the rooms, no TV , no games, nothing at night ( bring a book) Health and safety There is no fire extinguisher in the wooden huts and no phone to call in case of emergency - no way to contact anyone at reception. There is no clean water in the rooms, to drink or brush your teeth. The paths at night are pitch black - bring a flash light. There are no real windows or door so prepare to be eaten alive , bring bug spray The island is beautiful but I think more honest information would have helped us prepare for our stay and hopefully this will help others

Island Paradise

A stunning island, we had a very relaxing 3 days there with our teenage children. The rooms were clean, spacious and pretty good. No AC so it did get a little hot at night but manageable. Lots to do with various water sports options and gear to hire. All the staff are very friendly and helpful our daughters had their 16th birthday on the island and the staff made them a birthday cake. Meals were good, variety and even catered very well for me as a vegetarian

The Island is basic obviously but the food varies a lot & also the Huts are very uncomfortable the doors dont lock & there are loads of gaps for the bugs to get in? Seating or a sofa in the Hut would be nice? It would be nice if they offered snacks or alternatively so Western style food! Also on the return the taxi driver didnt have a clue who where or what?

Pros: Staff , food , location , everything ...
Cons: we thought a little overpriced . not much at all ...
Location: swim , snorkel, sail, walks . beautiful location. vey beautiful island.
Awesome place to relax like Robinson Crusoe , very beautiful , great staff a + , food a+ to much food sometimes and was restaurant quality, awesome wildlife , butterflies nearly every step of the way, on the walks we did around the island. The owner is trying to bring back the reef and island back to it's former glory, we appaulled him for this. we loved this place no noise , no traffic a perfect place to unwind and was a totally relaxing holiday. very romantic for couples . meet some fellow travellers who will be friends for life now. loved it all .The only bad point was leaving. My wife and I can't say enough good things about our stay on the island . a highlight of our trip to Vietnam for sure . we miss you already, Kind regards Andrew and Sara Goodman.

Return To Nature

We stayed here 2 nights and it was one of the highlights of our trip at Nha Trang. Transport there costs $20USD per person each way. There's no other choice. Costs us $80USD from Nha Trang City to the island and back. The hotel is very eco. The hut we stayed at is made of bamboo and wood. There are basic and clean toilet. There is no air conditioning or hot water. Amenities are old but is in working condition. Be careful there is a lot of bugs and ants. They give you the buggie net so make sure you use that. The beach was like those heavenly made ones. The water is so clear you can see your toes and many fishes swimming. The fishes arent afraid of people they will swim near you. Theres so many sea urchins near the rocks and they hurt so be aware. Rent the gears and kayak for about $25 USD half day. You can also walk around the island but theres so much rubbish around its not so nice. There's good view though. There's a bar near the beach. The drinks are nice and reasonably priced. There's only 1 option for food. You have to pay about $700000 VND for 2 person (14USD) per meal. It is very expensive for Viet Nam price. We had meals better for 400000VND at a different island. The food is of good portion and variety but is poor value. Food is set menu and some of the food didnt agree with my taste buds. We hope the food quality will improve. We're glad we stayed at Whale Island. It was over all a lovely experience
