The pros and cons
Posted 8 Jul 2019 on HotelsCheck in was efficient. Room was spacious and decently clean. No air conditioning in July was extremely hot and uncomfortable. People on the street were yelling and talking until 2am so had to keep the windows closed and it was stifling and no one slept.
Not much besides a grocery store close by. 10-15 min walk to restaurants etc.
Breakfast was quite good and fresh.
Front desk called us a “taxi” that did not have a meter and she would not quote before we left for the airport. Our fault for getting in because we were charged way more than the regular rates and we felt ripped off.
The front desk staff was generally pleasant and spoke English well, however keep in mind they close for a couple hours at 1pm and again during the night.

Very friendly reception desk staff. Location was good as well. It was a 10 minute walk from the Gare de Valenciennes and a 10 to 15 minute walk to Place de Armes.

Nice clean room, good service at reception (when it was open, check the opening hours) great to have underground car parking and free wifi. Was perfect for two nights
