The staff were really friendly and helpful, the scenery was lovely and would highly recommend it - you do need a car to get anywhere.

Vacy is a very small inland town in, as we say, the bush. Between the motel and the road that runs through the place is the "Flying Duck" restaurant, with an Austrian owner/chef. Just next door is the town pub that does not appear to offer accommodation. Vacy was founded as a"private town" in the 19th century, a proud and informative sign in the park between the pub and the road. There is a full history and map, in case you get lost. Like any good motel, there is parking at your front door - ours was under a shelter = and a small fridge under the usual coffee/tea fixings. A bit extra is the microwave so, in theory, you could cook yourself, buying your food to prepare from the general store across the road. The room was clean and inviting, with extra blankets and pillows as well as a reverse air conditioner: the motel owner, who lives nearby, came over to show us how it worked. We stayed two nights; the room was not cleaned the second day and there was no one else at the motel. If you are doing something in the area, the Vacy Village is a good option and not too expensive.
