On the grounds there are ruins of old french vacation homes and other facilities from the 1930's, 40's and 50's which can be walked to and explored. "For a cheap style hotel located on the far outskirts of Hanoi it was surprisingly good. The rooms are large, air-conditioned and have two big double beds (hard matresses) and a small private bathroom (a bit run down but good hot water). Room even has a smart TV....but that's about it. Located in a very quiet street but very limited food options, especially after dark. We used it as a stop over from Cat Ba to SaPa which was ideal. Much better than the over populated and way too busy Hanoi Old...

"Not so fancy hotel but it is worth more than the price you pay. The rooms are clean and the staff is very polite and friendly like Jim and Jenny. The location of the hotel is at the center of Old Quarter. Restaurants, souvenirs, coffee shops and many more are so situated just around the corner. We'll definitely go back in this place if we are to visit Hanoi in the future."
