Bugs/insects in the room

Posted 8 Nov 2021 on Hotels
I am not stranger to rural traveling, I’ve visited many villages and small town in more that 58 countries due to my work in the farming industry. We found three bugs in the room, one in the bathroom, one on the bed, one on the wall just above the bed. All was ok’sh and I managed to check the room though I was late at night. What made it worst is when I went down next morning to discuss this with the management, they said it’s ok, those bugs are seasonal and they come every year. We were lucky as this year infestation was moderate, we were told. This drove me crazy, if you know about the bugs why are you not protecting the hotel? They have net on the windows but it is broken and damaged. Bugs will get inside the room for sure.

Dear Monther, We have been waiting for your review. Actually, we are surprised to have received it so late! As I already told you in person, I am sorry for the inconvenience, but this is a problem we have been experiencing for years and that, fortunately, we have almost completely solved. I get that you have travelled around the world, but we have too (even if not as much as you) and, as far as we are concerned, reality is quite different from what you describe. We have been both to Africa, where we kept finding all kind of bugs in our room and in our bathroom, and to Polynesia, where geckos did their “business” on our bed while we were sleeping. In both cases, the staff of the place where we were staying told us that “it was all part of the natural ecosystem” and even continents like America and Asia are experiencing issues like this. That being said, I do not want to say that “it is normal and natural” to find stink bugs in a hotel room. We always try to do our best to keep the rooms clean through daily specific treatments. As a matter of fact, as you can see by reading the other online reviews, cleaning is one of our main strenghts. I am shocked by the fact that those two dead stink bugs were already in your room, given the daily morning cleaning, and I cannot understand how you did not find them at the time of the check-in, but only when you got back to the room. If you had pointed out the problem earlier, we could have figured that out right away. Regarding the broken mosquito net, that is a problem that had been pointed out the day before by other hotel guests. Yet, the one who takes care of the maintenance could not replace it immediately (you have no idea how many nets we change every year because of people’s lack of attention and misuse). However, even if the net had been intact, we cannot assure you would not have found stink bugs anyway, because, unfortunately, those bugs sneak through every opening and settle on everyone’s clothes…(not to mention the fact that I do not think you opened the window, given the cold, if not to take some pictures). That being said, I apologise again for the inconvenience and for driving you crazy. That was not my intention, Nevertheless, I cannot do anything if you did not accept the explanations I gave you. Kind regards, Gianni Marsaglia

Hotel Close Near the Winery's

Great hotel with many amenities such as the park like landscape with benches and gazebos, the pool, gym, and restaurant. My only negative would be the room doors seem slightly thin for a light sleeper and you get woken up by other guests in the morning.

Pleasant and silent countryside

Posted 21 Mar 2015 on Hotels
Stayed here during business. Very friendly and co-operative staff. Pleasant countryside. But location-wise it's in the middle of nowhere. So, I'd suggest you check well your purpose of visit before reserving. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and you may as well arrange food beforehand if you plan to spend a Sunday in the hotel. But the staff were very co-operative and kind and they can arrange to take you to the nearby pizza restaurant in their car.

Nice hotel in the country

Posted 23 May 2014
The hotel was easy to find with GPS. It was in the beautiful Italian countryside. One of the girls at reception spoke English but not very well so we communicated in German. The rooms were small but comfortable. The restaurant was not open when we went but there were a few in the town next to the hotel. Overall a great stay.

Off the beaten path

The location was very inconvenient for eating because it was miles away from the town, however, if you want to stay in the country, you could not find a nicer location. The swimming pool was located adjacent to a wheat field, gorgeous yellow semolina.

Lo Scoiattolo - Great stop over

Posted 11 Aug 2011 on Hotels
We used this hotel as a stop over driving back from Tuscany to Calais. We stayed two nights in a quadruple room which was air conditioned and actually turned out to be one double room with a second twin room for the children off the room's internal corridor - a real bonus for a family. Both rooms and the bathroom were very spaciuos, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and very good wiith excellent coffee. The hotel is well positioned for visiting Alba and Turin which were both interesting. We stayed in August and found several restaurants and shops in the area were closed, including the hotel restaurant and the pool was in the process of being refilled so we couldn't use it, but we still enjoyed the grounds which are very pleasant. This hotel offered a great stop over and was unbelievably good value. We will definitely return if in the area again.
