The property has a great view, Christopher was very friendly and try hard to speak English. Downside the property is on a hill and the access is about 30 degrees incline, not good for people with health issues. No elevator on the property. Need a car if you really want to take advantage of the beautiful scenery. If going print the route before, GPS is not precise and locals don't speak English. Area is very nice and great restaurants, be patience they are not in a rush, meals can take about 30 minutes before it gets to your table or longer. We had a great time despite the up ramp. Thanks

Thank you for your comment. Indeed Martinique is mountainous, there are slopes everywhere, it is also what makes its charm and in this way, you could have a very beautiful sea view. We are not concerned with the restaurant and the slowness as we are a tourist residence and only offer fully equipped apartments with kitchen and all the equipment. I hope you enjoyed your stay at Villa Mélissa

I love that this is an apartment rental - with kitcheonette, washing machine, and self-cleaning (no maid service). The staff was available to assist as needed (Olivier is exceptional - helping with restaurant reservations, site seeing recommendations, etc.). I felt myself and my belongings were secure at all times. I love the cool mountain water pool. Most of all, I love the views.

Amazing views

Posted 20 Jan 2018 on Orbitz
We had a very late arrival after some airport delays (don't rent from Avis unless you want to spend hours on line), yet Eduard was waiting for us with the biggest smile and accommodation (and glasses of rum punch). It is your apartment, he said, do as you please. The staff will not enter your unit without permission. You are responsible for daily cleaning, but the staff is there if you need anything. The unit is basic, but had everything we needed. The views are outstanding, with wide, fully opening windows. It was nice to have an upper floor room. We felt secure at all times. The only negative is that the pool water is cold, but I found it tolerable (refreshing, in fact) by late afternoon. Plus, the pool was very clean. Location is great - I liked being near L'anse Matin and Pointe du Bout. I will definitely stay at Residences Villas Melissa again.

Spoiled vacation to paradise

Posted 5 Jan 2018
Pros: The view
Cons: Better housekeeping, no smoking inside the office, attention to detail, newer bedspreads, check kitchen after guests leave and clean
Location: It is close to the marina and tourist area
The photos of this apt. hotel are completely false. The driveway is extremely steep and unsafe, difficult to park and walk up, is dirty and unwelcoming. The front office is smoke filled, extremely messy and disorganized. The staff were very friendly however. The room was very old, tiles falling off the baseboard, clock with no battery, dishes and pans dirty, bugs in the cabinets, filth under all beds, blanket was threadbare and stained, pillow cases stained and cheap old furniture. There is a minimal attention to surface detail that made the photos look modern and sleek that was completely inaccurate. The only feature worthwhile is the view of the bay which is beautiful. The pool looked nice but based on the way they did not clean the room I doubted whether they saw to the bacteria levels in the pool, though we never saw anyone swim in it. Overall, this was a very depressing place with a chained up dog next door and outside our window to hear and look at daily, ribs showing and no shelter through rain and sun. It was so sad to see him try to get attention from passersby. The price we paid for this hotel was comparable to much nicer hotels and it was so bad that we had to move to two other places so as not to completely destroy our vacation that was already a reach for us financially.

Nice hotel with all necessities

Posted 15 Dec 2017
Pros: It is in a good location, near beaches and the airport
Cons: The buildings and rooms could be “spruced up” a little
Location: There were beaches, grocery stores, restaurants, shopping and a casino very close by
The manager, Olivier was very helpful and efficient. We paid a 30% deposit to Expedia, which was never passed on to the hotel; therefore we had to pay 100% of the charges to the facility. We are contacting Expedia for our refund.

wonderful view

Villa Melissa is very reasonably priced, has a spectacular view of the bay, Pointe du Bout where it is located, Fort de France, and the surrounding waters. The room is spacious, and everything works well except the wifi. The furniture could be more comfortable. The foldout bed in the living room is not very comfortable when used as a sofa, and neither are the kitchen chairs very comfortanle. One of them was broken. The staff are all friendly and wonderfully helpful. Thy are the best. The pool is large enough and delightfully located with bougainvilleas cascading down one wall and a wonderful shaded area with a table and chairs where we occasionally enjoyed a take-out dinner and some wine. Be aware that the drivewayleading to the office and rooms is very steep. very steep. Our little rental car would not readily make it up the hill with four passengers. and it is a very steep walk. I didnt mind it, but you shpuld be aware of it. The wifi is adequate when there arent too many guests, but when the place fills on weekends you really don't have wifi. We, and other guests, sat on the steps, trying to dind a spot where the wifi worked. We were actually without functional wifi for most of our stay. But it's a short walk to a beachfront cafe with wifi. Despite those limitations, we really enjoyed the place and would stay there again. I cannot say enough about the view, the very nice pool, and the friendliest, most helpful staff I have encountered.

Accueil sympa même avec arrivée tardive. Merci à Anaïs et Olivier qui m'a trouvé une voiture rapidement. En revanche propreté de la piscine à revoir et parking difficile d'accès en dévers total un aménagement est plus qu'indispensable !
