Family winteri holiday

Posted 21 Feb 2022 on Hotels
While CGH La Femme de Val Claret was clean and well equipped and well located for access to the lifts, overall it was not the 4 star accommodation we were expecting. The internet connection is non existent, the spa is a good 10 minutes away, the hustle and atmosphere of the centre of the ski station is happening elsewhere and the reception is only open between 8-11am and again from 4-8pm. The accommodation is compact with very little storage and the rooms are small. The twin room had no windows and you could barely walk around the bed and it was hard for 2 people to share the room. While the kitchen is well equipped there is no place to store any food. The sofa is incredibly uncomfortable and on a snowy day it is not comfortable to stay in the apartment. Overall the residence doesn't live up to the standard we were expecting and we have stayed at far better accommodation for a similar.price.

Nice hotel, ski from door

Posted 4 Mar 2018
Hotel/apartment was really nice, good size and fully equipped with all cooking implements you could need! The staff were nice & you can ski to the door. The spa however, is located in a different hotel in the resort & is a 10 minute walk away which is worth noting if you are staying in this hotel. WiFi wasn’t great - only have 2 WiFi codes provided for the stay & with 5 people it wasn’t enough. You can purchase more codes but at €30 per code it’s quite expensive. Also the tv didn’t work due to poor signal. But overall a nice stay & would consider going there again!

Disappointing for CGH

Posted 8 Jan 2018 on Hotels
Not a four star residence. 2 bed Apartment supposedly for 6? very small - tiny bedrooms. 1 toilet. En suite shower curtained off to bedroom. Only 4 dining chairs. No facilities on site. No mid week clean or change of linen Expected to check inventory on arrival, clean apartment, strip beds and have room inspection on departure - just like a 1-2star hostel! Convenient for slopes -but better places to stay for the price and far cheaper places to stay with similar level of facilities.

Adequate, but not comfortable.

Posted 3 Jan 2018
Pros: No staff after 8, and between 12-4.
Location: Good location for ski in / ski out.
The good: Good location, friendly and professional staff. Decent bathrooms. The bad: Rooms are cold, noisy (you can hear everything from beside, above and below - do not expect a good sleep if you are not a very sound sleeper, even with earplugs). Pillows are terrible. This facility warns that they will charge you heavily (keep significant portion of the deposit) if the kitchen, dishes etc are not in the exact condition found when you arrived - this did not happen to us, but the notice given upon arrival is quite ominous.

Excellent location & good size

Posted 5 Feb 2017 on Hotels
We had eight people across two two-bedroom apartments and were impressed with the space. It would be a bit cramped with 6 in each apartment unless you don't mind some close living. Fairly well equipped kitchen & dining facilities, but going through the inventory on arrival was a bit of a pain. This will be checked on departure so worth doing properly to avoid charges from your deposit. Bedrooms are a good size with lots of wardrobe space. Decent beds. Bedroom 2 was rather warm in each apartment and had no external window to cool it down. We had a main bathroom & one ensuite in each apartment. We could ski in and out from the back steps and the main area for shops, restaurants & bars is just a short walk away. Parking in the basement is €60 per week and limited to 1.95m height vehicles. Each apartment has a decent sized ski locker including boot hangers, although no boot warmers. The locker room could desperately do with some hooks on the walls for hanging things up as you're getting in & out of boots. Worth remembering that local taxes are due on departure, roughly €2.50 per person per day. Overall good stay, would use these apartments and this company again. Pleasant and helpful staff. Clean apartments with good facilities.

Comfortable and convenient.

Very clean and well equipped apartment with easy access to the slopes and facilities. Two bedroom apartment was easily large enough for four people but would sleep six ok as was quite spacious. Cozy reception with friendly and helpful staff. Good underground parking. Only negatives: Views not great. Pillows could be better.

Tignes July 2016

Posted 20 Jul 2016
Pros: Self-catered apt - good size, decent kitchen and bathroom facilities. Wi-fi free and good speed. Beds comfy.
Beautiful scenery, quiet resort at this time - French school holidays hadn't started and a lot of the usual winter bars/restaurants were closed. Despite that, all the leisure facilities were available - MTB hire, kayaking, golf, etc and there were a few places to eat out - including the restaurant at 3000m at the top of the funicular during the day. Glacier open for summer skiing - it's obviously not january style deep powder and squeaky snow but still more terrain than you'd think. The still-lying snow meant not all the MTB trails were open but there was stil plenty to go at. Locals friendly and laid-back. We had lots of sunshine and warm weather, so enjoyed getting out into the mountains to walk on the well-sign posted trails. If you're staying in-resort there's a free tignes-sports pass that allows you to use things like the kayaks, SUP, pedalo, tennis courts and lots more for free, well worth getting. (Our receptionist did it on arrival, very easy.) Our 14 yr old boy loved it.
