Great hostel with helpful & friendly staff, nice common area, comfortable room set-up, clean toilets, and good water pressure on showers. Location is slightly inconvenient - about 15-minute walk to the more useful Oybek station and about 10 minutes to the area with more restaurant options.

For a hostel w shared bath it was terrific. My room was perfect and enjoyed having bed light and socket above my bed for charging g iPhone. Flat screen tv w 400 channels including CNN BBC and others was the ultimate luxury. Being next to bathroom I didn’t here any noise. Bed was firm and towel exchange easy. Lots of storage space. Breakfast buffet at 7 or earlier if travelling and good variety. Receptionist guy and gal where so patient and helpful. Amazing staff to meet on first entering Close to banks phone restaurants. But farther for metro but 15 min walk.

Art Hostel is a wonderful little place with wonderfully helpful staff! while there, they helped me arrange train tickets, showed me where/how to purchase airline tickets locally, and, when my adapter broke on my first day there, even lent me one for the remainder of my trip! highly recommend -

Perfect place to stay, brilliantly located and really love, helpful staff! Very nice to have a pool to dip your feet in at the end of a day pounding the pavements but it was full of dead flies and cat poo so didn't fancy swimming in it! Bed was pretty uncomfortable but the price and location it was an excellent stay!!

A Lovely Place to Stay in Tashkent

We stayed at the Art Hostel twice during our visit to Uzbekistan. The Art Hostel was lovely, clean, and welcoming. I loved the style of both the courtyard and the hostel itself. Their bulletin board and staff are a font of information about traveling in Uzbekistan and are a terrific resource as is the email they send prior to arrival describing how to get to the hostel from the airport or train station. That was a lovely touch. The staff make a great buffet breakfast each morning with breads, cheeses, oatmeal, sausages, fruit, vegetables, coffee, tea, ... The staff is also very helpful, and all speak English. Though, their level of proficiency varies. The hostel is close to a number of restaurants, the Metro, a grocery store, and a UCell office for getting that all important SIM card, and the bulletin board has information about all of these and much more. The staff can also arrange a _metered_ taxi.
