We had a problem with the bathroom door.

Staff was nice. Property was dark and gloomy and our room smelled a little weird. Wasn’t the end of the world but would prefer no smell.

This hotel was located within walking distance of UT campus as well as the Riverwalk, so location gets a 10/10. The building itself is outdated and in need of a facelift. While the room was clean, the floors couldve been mopped better. There isn’t much of an “energy” at Aloft Tampa, so if that’s what you’re looking for there are other (better) options nearby for dining, hotel bar, etc. The staff were all nice and courteous. Parking is valet only and $40/night, which is pretty standard.

Property looks much better in pictures than in person. Needs updating. Not enough lounge seating by pool. They are going for a modern esthetic but fail at practicality
