Convenient

Posted 4 Aug 2014 on Hotels
It is within walking distance (maybe 20 minutes) from the main train station. The new south train station is about a 20 minute (30rmb +/-) taxi ride. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, as is a nice park. The Chongshan Monastary is also close. The folks working there don't speak much English but will do what they can to help. Plus they give you 2 bottles of water each day. Overall, I'd recommend this hotel if you're staying in Taiyuan.

Decent hotel with a very good location

Posted 27 Sep 2012 on Hotels
The hotel belongs to the Jin Jiang chain of hotels. It can be classified as a business hotel typical for Asia. The room is very modest, clean with a well-working internet connection. The rate probably fits the amenities offered. The location is very good, just on one of the main commercial streets with many options for food and shopping. It is also easy to walk to the main street of the city. One pf the problems was to communicate with the staff in English. My family was trying to call me in my room but people at the reception desk could not even understand the number of room asked for.

Take care in Taiyuan

Posted 3 Sep 2012
Pros: Good size room .
Cons: Fraudulent staff.
Location: On main street
This hotel is fine, good size bedrooms and nice bathroom, and located on one of the main streets in Taiyuan and normally I would rate it at about 3 stars , but the experience of staying in Taiyuan was not the best. We only stayed in Taiyuan for the one night ,we had been to Pingyao and were flying on from Taiyuan airport. Taiyuan railway station was full of Taxi touts trying to rip us off to get to this hotel (make sure you have the address in Chinese) and the hotel tried to rip us off when leaving . There is no English spoken and very few western faces around Taiyuan , not usually a problem for seasoned travellers ,but obviously we are deemed easy prey in this city. The hotel took a 200 RMB deposit , not unusual for Chinese hotels , but next day didn't want to give it back with no explanation as to why. We stood our ground at reception until a nice Chinese person who could speak some English helped us out. The hotel had charged us again for the room after we had already paid through Expedia . We got the money back eventually (a loud Englishman making a commotion at the reception desk makes quite a scene), no apology was given , they wouldn't even look me in the eye when dealing with my complaint . Be very wary if you stay here .

東横イン的なビジネスホテル

Posted 9 Mar 2018
