The rooms are a lot smaller in person than the photos make it out to be. Overall was a great stay though I enjoyed being very close to 3 different train stations. Everyone working the front desk is very friendly and welcoming.

This ia very nice place. Walking distance to Asakusa and Ueno . The only concern is quite small for a family of 5 to move around esp w luggages so just be mindful since this Tokyo size.

Fun hotel with two story rooms built similar to loft beds in the U.S. worked out great for our family. Staff speak great English and location is great to walk to multiple metro stations and Kappabashi

Modern, quiet, efficient room. We stayed in an 8th floor room with floor to ceiling windows looking directly at the Skytree. Beautiful! Although windows that open that high without screens and no balcony give me pause. The room packed a lot in a small space: kitchen with sink, microwave, hot plate; shower and bathtub with clothes washing machine; beds for four with a sliding partition door; living room with couch and coffee table. Beds were very comfortable although the pillows were hard and made of some kind of filling we couldn't identify. Couch would be small for an adult to sleep on. There are multiple level changes within the room (sunken entrance and living room) to navigate. We were four adults travelling very light and it was fine, but I would not recommend to groups travelling with big, bulky luggage. Staff were very friendly and spoke English well. We enjoyed staying in Taito City. The location is very walkable and quick to access the subway system (Hibaya and Ginza lines) but neighbourhood feels a little quieter and less overrun by tourists. Many restaurants and shopping within walking distance at Asakusa.

The room is small for 4 people to stay. Otherwise, the overall stay was not bad.

We loved staying at Dots, it was a very unique and unusual place to stay. The staff at the front desk were lovely and it was in a great location. Overall, it had the feel of staying in a caravan or tiny home. The bathroom was excellent and spacious. Heating was great. The location was 15 minute walk to Ueno train station and very close to kitchenware street and Sensoji Temple (go there at night, it's so much better without the crowds!!!) However, if you are tall, wide or can't manage awkward steps, this is NOT the place for you. The bed was on the floor (with only one pillow and no extra blankets), we were unable to stand up in near the bed. The mezzanine lounge area also had a very low roof, my husband (178 cm tall) was only just able to stand up in the the area, I would estimate the roof was 180cm high!!! It is impossible for two people to pass each other by the lifts, in the hallways or on the steps. There were also limited views of Tokyo Tower from the 4th floor, I was a bit disappointed about this as I was really looking forward to seeing from our room. BUT... if you want a really unique Tokyo experience, then this is definitely the place for you!!!

The property is located in a nice quiet neighbourhood and a 10-15min walk to subway and also Ueno and Asakusa. The property is clean and nice with loft style sitting area but it’s a lot small than what appears in photos. We had a triple room for 3 adults so 1 of us had to sleep on the sofa bed which left no place for others to sit down so we ended up using the small steps as our seats. The entrance/hallway is super narrow so only one person fits at a time. The photos also don’t show how little room there is (1/2 m) between the end of beds and the wall so everything was a squeeze. There’s a “wardrobe” next to the beds but it was hard to get to as we weren’t able to stand up to wheel in our suitcases. The bathroom felt the most spacious in the entire room. Overall we like the location and look of the room but the triple room was way too small for 3 people and the photos don’t reflect that.

With no idea where to stay in Tokyo, we loved our 7 days at dots.tokyo for its location, style, and value. It is compact, yet thoughtful in modern design with good use of space. The mezzanine bed gave us a small living area which many hotels don't offer. We elected to get two rooms for our family of four and that worked really well. The Taito area is quaint and has lots of character, so strolling the streets is lovely - there's many great restaurants and a Family Mart just down the road. Walking to shops or the train was easy, yet we felt a little out of the bustle which was nice. The reception had long open hours, and lovely friendly staff there to help if you needed. Things to note - Japanese tend to sleep on hard mattresses and pillows, so this took a bit of getting used to. Otherwise, no complaints.
