The reception counter is closed most of the days during our morning check-in and check-out. The room is not sound proof.

Thanks for the review and great rating, our checkin times are from 2pm onwards. Our office is open from 8am-6pm. We also have a duty manager onsite for any after hours check ins.

Poor parking very limited had to park way away up the road in the street away from motel. The blind in the window in the room does not fully cover the side of the window near bed and lets the sun beam in early so couldn’t sleep in.

The property needs maintenance, the smell in the corridors is unpleasant.
It might have been a full of character property but now it’s just old.
The beds were comfortable but the family room was very small, almost no space between the beds and the windows faced the fence, no landscape, just next door’s windows.
I was disappointed as the description of the property said property full of charm, it might have had it but not anymore. At least no the ground floor.

On arrival the reception staff member was welcoming and friendly she had a very pleasant manner. My room was clean but very basic. The hotel requires a major upgrade it is looking very tired. Breakfast was also substandard continental breakfast.
Also I noticed both front and back entry doors wedged open to allow people in without keys which I find to be a real security risk. I felt unsafe in my room.
The hotel is very close to Katoomba RSL which is very overpriced for pub food and is low standard I couldn’t eat the food due to being overcooked and tasteless. Overall the hotel rooms were clean and the staff were pleasant.

This property really need a face lift. It’s not well maintained, some of the rooms absolutely sticks and smell like smoke. It really is one of the worst places I have stayed, but have soooo much potential

I'm more than happy to deal with negative reviews as it give us an opportunity to see if we can make improvements, to claim its the worst place is rather extreme. We are over 100 years old, and the hotel is in great condition. Art Deco is not to everyone's taste but still, we provide great accommodation for the price. In terms of the smoke, all our rooms are non smoking, if guests wish to smoke, they are free to do so outside.

She's old, but still has charm and grace. It's funky, but clean and looked after.
