No bowls or cutlery in family room. Reception locked throughout with no in-person contact (although by luck a cleaner was on the property and was helpful). Check-in done using intercom.

Property is very old but has been updated and was clean, tidy and quiet. There was no hair dryer, rooms are small and can hardly shut the front door, due to the bed. The room smelt of strong bleach and took a while to clear. The cleaners should use another product. It's a motel, not a public toilet block! You check-in and check-out yourself, there is nobody home in the wheelhouse.

This is an older motor lodge - think vintage Route 66. Room #11 was spacious. Bathroom was retro and clean. Beds were very comfortable. Parking right outside of the room. Entry door needs weatherstripping replaced, as cold air and light came in through the sides and bottom of the door. Carpet also needs replacing. Within a 10-minute walk to Scenic World and Echo Point Lookout. Within 2-3 minute walk to bus stops, but beware they are not always on schedule. Not conveniently located to restaurants and stores - need to take bus into town or walk 20 mins.

Great Australian place to stay
Posted 1 Mar 2024 on HotelsNice stay - updated room was very comfortable, within easy reach of buses and a nice cafe around the corner (Thursday to Monday only) and a chocolate shop right across (coffee too). Staff and managers/owners are very friendly and helpful. Will be back again!

Given all the positive reviews about cleanliness, I expected better. The furniture was new and the paint was recent, but the walls need more than paint. Someone clearly made an effort, but the place needs more work. At least it was reasonably quiet.
