Great location
Posted 27 Sep 2015Wonderful staff, went above and beyond to answer all questions and help with the language. Breakfast buffet was very good, located in the center of town, easy to walk to restaurants and shopping.

Great small hotel in great location
Posted 29 Aug 2015 on Wotif
Pros: Location, helpful owners, breakfast.
Location: Middle of historical centre. We were there at time of music festival - a bonus.
Great place to spend a few days to experience a lovely historical town "off the beaten track".
Perfect location. Owner managers were extremely helpful - I had a problem with my iPad - offered to take me to repair shop but I had commitment so offered to do so for me - no charge.
Very comfortable room.

Simple pleasures
Posted 30 Nov 2012
Pros: location and owners
Excellent simple hotel, in very good central location. Run by two brothers, who were extremely helpful, spoke reasonably good English and generally made a difficult trip, (family reasons), a pleasure and at a very decent price.

Perfect Accomodation for the beautiful Sulmona
Posted 22 Sep 2012 on HotelsHotel Stella was a great little hotel and had very comfortable beds. Bathroom was very clean but a little small. Only a problem if you are tall like my husband and I. Staff were very helpful with all questions. The continental breakfast was also nice. The location is great as you are right in the heart of the old town and a minutes walk from the Piazza.

Well it says itself it's a three star!
Posted 18 Oct 2011 on HotelsDon't believe the 1-star rating on here, the Stella is a decent 3-star hotel in the Abruzzo hideaway that is Sulmona.
We stayed for one night as a stop over from Rome to Pescara and weren't disappointed. The staff were welcoming and spoke English.
The room itself was a good size but the bathroom was a little cramped.
Our only complaint was the hotel were unable to turn on the heating, which is centrally operated across the hotel - in other words, everyone's radiators are at the same temperature. We were told that it was 'warm for that time of year' and, yes, it was during the day (low 20s) but at night it dropped to typical october temperatures! To compensate, we were given a free cuppa. Easily bought!

This was the best!
Posted 27 May 2011A small hotel(10 rooms & a restaurant) in the heart of Sulmona. Recently refurbished, very large room with a king size bed. Room was clean and well equipped. Excellent location in the old section. Comes with a full bath. No complaints at all and my wife will tell you that this is not me! The staff is very helpful & friendly. We stayed in London, Paris & Rome and without question this took 1st place. I'd rate at 3 to 4 stars.

A nice spot in Sulmona, convenient & clean
Posted 29 Jan 2011A bit spartan, but clean and very friendly. Empty restaurant with an impressive collection of good wine- it was January. Internet available in the lobby. Delicious bruschetta brought out with our drinks before we went elsewhere (up the street a bit) for dinner.
